I visited the Kristy Kebab and asked for a vegan Döner. They said vegan and veggie would be the same. When I asked what vegan sauces they can offer, they answered that the only sauce, they can offer which is vegan, would be Curry Ketchup…
Read moreI decided abstain from it… Was really disappointed because I expected to get a vegan Döner there. Wasn’t really sure if the people there know about vegan stuff.

Soest is a bit of a wasteland when it comes to vegan eateries, so it was a surprise to find Krispy Kebab. At the time of my visits, it had been open for a week, and was during the Kirmes (carnival), so it was very busy. It's a small chain that makes Berlin-style kebabs. If you've ever had one in Berlin, especially in Kreuzberg, then you'll understand why this is so special. The bread, the different types of cabbage, the entire package and how it's been put together.
Read moreKrispy Kebab only has a few menu items, two of which are vegan - the vegetable kebab and the vegetable kebab box. Didn't try the latter, stuck to the former. Roasted vegetables with the typical salad filling. Massive serves, which need a fork to eat half of it before you can tackle the bread. All sauces are vegan (probably by accident than design), and all allergens are labelled (as is standard in Germany). The best kebab I've had outside of Berlin, only needs a falafel option to be perfect.
