Vegan Cajun! This place is a must!

I'm really glad that a place like Krimsey's Cajun exists - vegan Cajun restaurant, who would have thought? Not my visiting friend from Chicago; he wants to return here on a future visit! The food is fantastic - great flavor, many options, good portion sizes. The spot itself isn't huge but I've never seen it too full, and the parking lot outside is tiny but street parking is available. On my last visit, for 3 of us, we got hush puppies, fried pickles, the Gumbalaya with cornbread, and two different kinds of poboys, the New Orleans (with hearts of palm) and the fried green tomato - one of those with a side of Cajun potato wedges and the other with chips. It was quite a delicious feast!
The only downsides to our visit were, 1- they didn't have any biscuits & gravy left (we were there around 2pm, brunch menu is available until 3pm.. hence why we ended up with 2 Poboys which were still good, but really craved some biscuits & gravy), and 2- after we were done with our meal and wanted to get the Voodoo Brownie Beignet, we were told it would be another 30ish minutes for those to be made (we were on a schedule and didn't have the opportunity to wait longer.. I had them before but really wanted my visitor to try; next time, I guess!).
Aside from those 2 hiccups, we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. I even ended up buying a bottle of their homemade Cajun ranch!

Recommend: hush puppies, fried pickles, Gumbalaya bowl, Jambalaya bowl, cornbread, New Orleans Poboy, Voodoo Brownie Beignet

Things to note:
- the parking lot is small and tight, you're better off parking on the street or surrounding neighborhood
- free wifi!
- they sell a number of items ranging from clothing to bottles of their Cajun ranch or Cajun spices
- order dessert with your meal just in case there is a wait time

Pros: Amazing Vegan food, They sell food & goodies, Great atmosphere

Cons: Sometimes there is a wait, Sometimes they run out of foos

Nom, nom, nom

Such flavorful food and a great change from standard vegan fare. Not necessarily the healthiest of vegan places (try the fried dill pickles!), but definitely delicious. Drool 🤤

Prepare to be patient about the parking - it’s a bit of a nightmare - but worth it.

Amazing

Unfortunately I live less than a mile from Krimsey’s. I say unfortunately because it’s the kind of vegan food joint that you can keep eating and eating and eating. I usually never have leftovers and on the weekend they get cake from a vegan bakery that’s amazing.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, No soy

Cons: A bit expensive

Poboy sammy - yes please

Oh I have been wanting to go here for a few years now and I was finally in the area with time, hunger, and vegan friends. I will absolutely be looking for more reasons to visit NoHo!

We visit on Fathers day and the gods were smiling on us there was no line and a place to sit. It hadn't been bussed, but the staff was hustling and came along soon after and cleaned everything up for us when they delivered the tea. Soon after we sat down there was a long line, testament to the amazing food we were about to have.

Our food arrives and it includes the pride poboy with cornbread, corn chowder, hush puppies, and mini corn dogs. Everything was delicious. I honestly had forgotten how much I love and miss cornbread. I we all shared and sampled and the corn chowder was so flavorful and filling, but not heavy as strange as that sounds. the sauce on the poboy was spicy and delicious. the cornbread was moist and tasted amazing. Is it corn overload if I get cornbread and corn chowder next time? if it is that is ok that is what is happening.

Pros: Awesome staff, Delicious food

Tasty vegan food

Very different spin on vegan food. Normally all you get is Asian and Mexican vegan options, which I'm not complaining, those are my fav cuisines, but Cajun was a fun twist. I'd say it's more tasty, and not so healthy so if you're more of a health nut like me, maybe not your jam. Fritters, Jambalaya, and corn chowder were delish.

Pros: tasty

Cons: not so healthy

DON’T MISS OUT! This restaurant is a MUST for both vegans and meat-eaters alike. Everything on the menu is amazing and nothing is less than spectacular. From where I’m located it is a bit of a hassle to get there, but it’s always worth it! I go with my family every week because we love it so much. Once you try it you have to go back. You won’t stop thinking about how delicious the food is for at least a week after you’ve eaten it. Just go and thank me later!

Pros: Mouth-watering and memorable food, Adorable New Orleans aesthetic, Great service

Cons: Parking is tight and limited

Delicious, unique, and affordable

I loved everything about this place. It’s a casual place where you order at the counter, and they have nice inviting decor. The menu is full of delicious options. We opted for the gumbalaya, fried okras, and heart of palm poboy. Everything was fantastic. The fried okras were delightfully crispy, the gumbalaya was huge and hearty, and the heart of palm poboy had nice crunch and flavor.
Moreover, the staff are kind and welcoming and the prices are fair. And where else can you find vegan Cajun food?? This is a truly unique and excellent place. I highly recommend it.

Wanted to like this place

After reading the reviews, I was really prepared to overpay and still love this place. How disappointed I was! I had the jambalaya which was redolent with funky fake meat. The portion wasn’t very big for the price. And worst of all, I paid almost $3 for a minuscule piece of dried out cornbread.

BEST. PANCAKES.

Do yourself a favor and swing by here for brunch. Her pancakes are *perfect*.
The Cajun food is amazing and fantastic as well, of course. The Poboy is a staple for me.

Also, the beignets are delightfully authentic and the hush puppies are 100% spot on.

I’m also addicted to their sweet tea.

Surprise Surprise

I was in search of a vegan restaurant and a girlfriend gave me a couple options, one of which was Krimsey's. Since the flare of the restaurant was different, Cajun/Creole, we thought this would be interesting. Well, it was beyond interesting...it was unbelievably yummy! My friends and family know a thing or two about this Cajun/Creole cooking and we were pleasantly surprised. The flavor was awesome and I couldn't get enough of the hush puppies and the dipping sauce....ahhh, makes me want to drive over there now. It's definitely worth a visit!

Pros: Flavor/Seasoning

Cons: Small/tight parking lot, Fast food-esque, walk-up to place orders, A little pricey, spent over $40 for 1 person
