Never thought I’d see a chophouse with a vegan menu but pleasantly surprised. We made a reservation for a Monday night, which was good because there was a long wait for walk ins when we arrived. We were sat immediately and our server was lovely, as was the hostess. We got the “it’s about thyme” cocktail which was tasty. We also loved the bread that was served, it came with vegan butter and garlic oil—amazing.
Read moreOn the 3 course menu, my partner and I got the vegan crab cake, oyster Rockefeller, tofu salmon, beef steak, then the brookie and cashew cream sundae. The crab cake was a good size and delicious, I wasn’t crazy about the Rockefeller but that may be because it was difficult to eat (served in small artichoke leaf) and was smaller. Both entrees were quite good, couldn’t believe how steak like the beef steak was. The blue cheese wasn’t very blue cheese like but it was a delicious distinct flavor that complemented the dish. The tofu in the tofu salmon wasn’t super flavorful but everything it was served with was good, a bit more lemon would have been great. The desserts were incredible! The brookie was nice and rich and the cashew ice cream sundae was amazing. The sundae came with so much ice cream (photo doesn’t do it justice), maybe 3 big scoops and then piled with fruit and Oreos, chocolate and caramel type syrups, it was so thick and creamy I really had to resist gorging myself. All in all great experience.

i never get the chance to go to fancy restaurants, let alone a steakhouse so this was a cool experience! it was $45 to choose a vegan entree, starter, and dessert. for such a fancy restaurant this seemed reasonable! the food wasn’t my favorite vegan food (personal preference as this is not my fav type of food) but the experience is so worth it for a fun treat! i would go back maybe in a while for a special occasion

Absolutely the best vegan meal I have had in a long time. Very rare (no pun intended) to find a full vegan menu at a steakhouse. Yes- I agree it is abhorrent that they serve meat, sentient octopus (see My Octopus Teacher if you want a good cry) - but I am a believer that this is how we make progress; through introducing creative delicious vegan options at restaurants that allow non-vegans to experience these options, as several of my carnivore dining companions did. Ask for Chad — if he is still there — and tell him Jon and and Corey from Chicago sent you. Try the Portobello “Escargot” and “Beef” Wellington. You will love it.

Went here for my anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful. My Omni boyfriend ordered off the vegan menu as well so I got to try a lot. The escargot and Rockefeller were delicious and SO FUN. The Wellington and blue cheese thingamagummy were both delicious. The dessert was also fantastic. Our service was great - would definitely recommend. The cocktails were also *delicious*

Kres was amazing! Upscale restaurant with high ceilings, nice environment, friendly staff and great vegan food. They have a vegan prefixe menu on Saturdays that's a three course meal. Would definitely give 5 stars, but Happycow won't allow it. Ridiculous they are controlling that. Discourages places to introduce vegan options.

My husband and I had not been to an upscale restaurant like this one in the 5 years we’ve been vegan. We were so pleasantly surprised at the vegan menu created specifically by the vegan chef at Kres. Everything was delicious, fresh and creative. Definitely will be back for a special occasion 🙂

Went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and was delighted to learn they have a great vegan menu. They have an option to order a side item, an entree and dessert for $40. The food was delicious and very well made. The vegan “beef” Wellington was absolutely perfect. And even my non-vegan friends loved the blondie brownie with ice cream, it was such a delicious treat!

Yes, and it’s very good!!! They even offer a three course menu option if you’re very hungry. You can choose an appetizer, main, and dessert. The swanky, white table cloth dining experience mixed with the feng shui decor and lighting make Kres a perfect place for a date. The service, wine, and cocktail menu make this the perfect place for a very nice dining experience whether celebrating a special occasion or just life.

Creative Lavish Vegan Courses - Edit
Elegant atmosphere with very good service. They have a separate section on the menu with their vegan items. Some items change seasonally, but it’s usually 4 appetizers, 2 entree options, and 2 desserts. You can not go wrong with any choice! All their options are creative well-thought out dishes that are delicious! Great place for a fancy night out.
