Serves meat, vegan options available. 好記園 is in Chinatown at 神奈川県横浜市中区山下町106. Menu has several pages of vegan options, all labeled. Try the dried bean curd. Also offers vegan Osechi for 3 people. Removed Nov '22 due to selling shark fin.

Vegan items clearly labeled. And plenty to choose from - Edit
I initially thought this was the vegan-friendly restaurant I once went to years ago. That one turned out to be Banwarou, and this one was just as good. Although it serves non-vegetarian food, there were several pages in the menu dedicated to vegan food like rice dishes, noodle and rice noodle dishes and, more importantly dim sum. Although Google says it's a Taiwanese restaurant, dim sum is Cantonese.
Read moreWe chose the stir fired rice noodles (bifun), fried rice (there seemed to be egg in the menu, but the waitress assured us there weren't any), and turnip cake (a popular dim sum). A bit greasy but that's to be expected with many Chinese dishes. Things we didn't choose included sticky rice dumplings (chimaki in Japanese, zongzi in Chinese), steamed shumai, gyoza (ie potstickers or dumplings). I would definitely recommend this place but you need to go several times to taste everything.
The place is fairly easy to find. It's across the road from the entrance of the Chinese temple, Yokohama Mazu Miao.
Pros: Vegan dim sum, Not too expensive, Vegan dishes clearly labeled
Cons: Some of the food can be a bit greasy

Best in Chinatown - Edit
Most delicious food I had in a while.
Read moreWe ordered a couple of dishes to share from their large vegan menu.
Especially "Fried Eringi & Vegetables" was so good.
It's sweet and sour sauce flavored, exactly what I was craving that day.
Service was very fast and friendly.

Extensive Vegan menu! - Edit
Would give 5☆ if I could! This place seems proud of their vegan offerings, advertising it from the street. I was surprised had how much variety they had. The restaurant is easy to find and has a nice interior typical of Chinatown. I wanted to try two things, so I got the Taiwanese-style yakisoba and the Green onion pancake. The food arrived quickly as the staff was very efficient. And everything was delicious! The green onion pancake wasn't too oily and had a great texture. And the yakisoba had lots of fresh veggies. My only gripe is that some of the photos on the menu are reused for different dishes, even between vegan and non-vegan ones. So make sure you're on the vegan section of the menu and specify that with the waitress. Also, the prices aren't too bad, but just a couple items can really rack up the bill. All in all, it was a great experience and I'll be back for sure!

They have such a wide variety on their vegan menu. Really can’t go wrong with any of them but personally I love the daikon cakes, hot and sour soup, and soy sauce fried rice!

Awesome tantan-men - Edit
In Tokyo, my favourite rich and spicy ramen is the Karabon in Jangara bistro. In Yokohama China-Town, my go to ramen would be the tantan-noodles in Koukien. The rich umami flavour of the broth marries well with the chewy noodles. My bowl of noodles was served with plenty of bean sprouts and bok choy, topped with some salty soy meat (which was room temperature). If you are into spicy ramen, please give this tantanmen a go.
Read moreThere are plenty of other vegan dishes on the menu; I have tried the mushroom noodle soup but there's nothing to rave about apart from the big portion. I also tried their goma dango, but it was quite greasy. They also sell vegan mooncake, which was really nice (I had the coconut one). You can also get frozen vegan gyoza and zongzi to take away and enjoy at home.
The lady who served me was very friendly and attentive. Service was quick with very little fuzz. Overall, this place is my go-to for a weekend noodle lunch in Yokohama.

Taiwanese vegan magic - Edit
A true jewel! The menu had a lot of vegan options, making it hard for us to decide what to order. The portions were big, and the taste was absolutely amazing - I felt like I was back in Taiwan. Definitely coming back!

Super Delicious and Satisfying - Edit
The food here rocked. So many choices from the 'Vegan' pages of their menu, that it was hard to choose... How often does that happen? Naturally, I wanted to order everything - but had to settle for everything in the photos. Filling, and so well prepared - I can't wait to go back.

Best food! - Edit
This place is amazing. I live in Tokyo and I have to set my standards lower for vegetarian and vegan food in Japan because it’s not the same quality as the west. This is not the case for this restaurant! The vegan options were clearly marked and the staff spoke a little English. There were at least three pages of options for vegans! The food options were simply vegan versions of all the main dishes and tasted just as good. Dishes quite large in size and perfect to share making it very easy to order many dishes and not cost a lot of money. If you want to visit Chinatown and are plant-based or simply looking for a great restaurant check this place out!

Absolutely divine - Edit
I ordered the chilli mapo tofu (I think that’s what it’s called) and a serve of rice. It was DELICIOUS! It was pretty mild, and the sauce was so yummy. Everything about it was perfect. It came out in less than 10 minutes. Good value, ¥1,274 for the main plus a bowl of rice. Definitely going back to try their other stuff.

Authentic vegan Chinese! - Edit
Excellent service and food! The pin on happy cow was wrong so at first we couldn’t find it. It’s on the same street as Yokohama Shinsekai(the museum). If you walk past matsumotokiyoshi(a drug store) you can see their sign. 10 our of ten. Strongly recommend!
