Literally amazing - Edit
The vegan menu selection is so extensive the waiter came back three times to ask if we were ready yet to order and we still couldn’t decide- it all sounded delicious!! Whatever we ended up going with was so good we were silent the whole meal because we were too busy having a religious experience from the taste. Highly recommend and it was my favorite place by FAR in Cork.

The food is very good and so are the cocktails. Deep fried food is made in the same fat as the animal deep fried food, they declare it on the menu. Nevertheless there are many options which are not deep fried and I personally like the transparency.

Ich finde es angenehm, dass es eine extra vegane Menükarte gibt mit mehreren Optionen für die Vorspeise, den Hausgang und ein Dessert. Sowohl der Salat als auch das Teriyaki Reis Gericht waren lecker. Allerdings beides recht scharf, obwohl keine Chili Schote wie bei den anderen Gerichten auf der Menü Karte angegeben war. Das Personal könnte meiner Meinung nach etwas freundlicher sein (mehr lächeln).

There's an extensive vegan menu. I had pad Thai and it was really scrummy. I could have had any dish as they all sounded delicious. The wines are also clearly labelled. Clearly the staff know what they're doing. They were all lovely and cheery.

We (a vegan table of two) were waiting a long time for our food. I'd say about 25 minutes after our starter was cleared, and 45 minutes after we placed our order. We didn't really mind, but just so you're aware. About 3 or 4 other tables who ordered after us were served their amazing looking meat dishes before us.
Big thing for me: the rice was bland. Brown rice doesn't have to mean bland rice, especially as a side dish. Add oil, garlic, veg whatever! Give people options. Plain rice, brown or white, is just a bit meh, even if there's curry sauces, etc
Vegan dishes almost the same price as meat dishes. So that means either they buy cheap meat, or they're charging vegans a mark-up
Pros: Good vegan options, Vegan desserts
Cons: A bit overpriced for vegan dishes, Slow service for vegan dishes, Bland rice

I was disappointed to find that all the Tofu on the Vegan menu was fried with everything else non vegan. The waitress was very offhand and said that most vegans did not mind and that they had it clarified on the menu. A lot of their options on vegan menu had Tofu in it. Not good enough in my opinion

We really enjoyed our meal at Koto, they’re open when most of the other restaurants with vegan options are closed but it’s worth the trip no matter the time! Located in a good part of the city to explore after your meal.

After reading positive happy cow reviews I had pretty high expectations and ended up disappointed. I had a tofu stir fry lunch special and it really lacked flavor. The included veggies were just some green beans and corn, and a couple pieces of onion. It is nice there's a separate vegan menu but more flavor and substance could be added to the dishes. The tofu had no seasoning.

Lovely restaurant on Carey's Lane with full vegan menu. Tried the wok fired greens for starter, the Zingy Tofu and Teriyaki Tofu rice dishes for mains and they were all very nice! Also massive portions so I'm glad we shared the starter as I wouldn't have been able to finish my meal otherwise. My meal came. In a lovely bamboo bowl.
