Schön und lecker - Edit
Schmeckt gut und schönes Ambiente mit Blick auf den zugehörigen Pool des Hotels. Es gibt einen kleinen Suppenshot umsonst. Die Currys wechseln täglich. Alle sind sehr nett und es ist sauber. Das Essen war mir nur etwas zu mild und unwürzig.

Good portion too.
Service was very slow, especially for the drinks.
As its one of the only solid options in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. Price is similar to hotels in the area. Be warned the service charge is added after the price on the menu.

Maybe we came on an off day and usually it’s better, but we sadly didn’t see the five stars or the price of the food. The food was well presented and so interesting and not bad at all, but sadly, both of our dishes were just very dry and missing something.
Read moreService also was slow for the drinks, and then getting the change for the bill took a really long time with no communication and the servers walking past me multiple times.
It just didn’t fit with the rest - the place is very beautiful, the dishes look gorgeous, and the atmosphere is definitely on the classier side. We were very happy to find a vegan and vegetarian restaurant, but it feels like some more energy would be good.

After arriving in Negombo, I discovered Koththamalli via Happy Cow app and could not have been more happy about it. It was a lovely way to begin my Sri Lanka experience. The food was delicious and the environment was even better. Compared to other options in the area, the prices are a little steep, but not unreasonable for what you get. I regret not getting images of my main meal, but everything looked so good, I dove right in. The spicy fruit and vegetable wrap was the perfect amount of kick and freshness. And my king coconut mouse by the pool was perfect blend of electrolytes and smiles after my flight.

I had the iced tea and the rice with six curries. Location is beautiful und staff is great. Prices are quite high for Sri Lanka a service charge of 30% will be added. In total I paid around 2400 Rupees 200 tip (on top of service charge)

The food was some of the best vegan food I've ever tried. I got the six sri lankan curries served with rice and all of them were incredibly delicious! My favorite one had to be the banana blossom one but I loved them all!
The service was very kind and attentive and prices were really low for the quality! In fact I had to double check I did the conversion right 😅
A place not to be missed!

Wir sind durch Happy Cow auf das Restaurant gestoßen. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Auch das Ambiente neben dem Pool war nett. Für zwei Hauptspeisen plus zwei Getränke und einen Smoothie haben wir umgerechnet ca. 12€ gezahlt.

I factored in a two night stay in Negombo just so I could eat here twice, and I’m glad I did. Excellent fresh food, a different take on Sri Lankan cuisine than that I’d been eating for six weeks. Service was prompt and polite. Price was competitive for the area, though much better quality. The roasted nuts and herbal greens salad was fresh and nicely spiced. The wild asparagus soup complemented these flavours. I finished up with helapa, a lightly sweet dessert. On the second day I had the rice and curry, which was also excellent, though not as good as the options I had on my first visit.

It had such a nice atmosphere there and it was a bit more noble than other restaurants. The food was amazing!!! It was so delicious, I loved it! I also liked that they put the nutritional values. The only thing they could improve is that it was a very small portion of rice with the curries.

I loved the atmosphere at dinner in this restaurant. The staff was so helpful and friendly, we just felt welcome at this place. The food was also very good, eventhough it is a little expensive for Sri Lanka.

Best Meal I’ve Had in Sri Lanka - Edit

Read moreWhat a perfect meal we had on our last night here in Sri Lanka.
Blown away.
We started with the Mixed Gram w Spinach Salad and the Mushroom and Butternut Squash Salad.
Both amazing. I especially liked the spinach salad because it tasted a bit more western and since I’ve been eating Sri Lankan all day every day for weeks a little different flavor profile was nice.
Obviously I love TF out of Sri Lankan food but I also love variety.
Then I got the Mushroom and Sweet Potato Cakes which were outstanding and Dhananjani got the Butternut Squash Pasta.
While everything was amazing, the pasta was the standout for me. Cooked a perfect al dente with a perfect butternut squash cream sauce.
The beautiful part was that everything was healthy as this is in a high end Ayurvedic hotel.
As crazy as this sounds, I was so full didn’t get dessert…and that’s rare.
Hands down the best meal I ate in Sri Lanka that wasn’t rice and curry or other traditional dishes.

...dessert, had a semolina sesame cake.
Drink was fresh ginger beer, very refreshing.

You’ll struggle to find food that is as delicious and nutritionally balanced as you will enjoy here. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner for 4 days whilst at the resort for an Ayurvedic retreat. This restaurant is the perfect reason to visit Negombo. Outstanding.
