Really good food but menu has changed

Last time I was here I had two small plates instead of a main and that was plenty. I did the same this time as there was only one vegan main and they are so much smaller. Can’t complain about the food itself-it’s delicious but a smaller vegan menu than before

Excellent

Separate vegan menu with a good selection of options, I struggled to choose! Ended up with the Korean style cauliflower and Tom Kha Noodle soup, which were both stunning. Great atmosphere in the place, was light and airy, with a lovely view over the harbour. Staff were lovely, too. Would recommend to anyone visiting Porthleven!

Pros: Delicious food, Light and airy, Friendly staff

Cons: None!

Small but tasty.

The vegan menu was limited to two starters, two mains and a couple of sides but a lot of thought had clearly gone into it. We shared the KFC - Korean fried cauliflower with gochugang, chives and lettuce and the tempura tofu bao bun with pickled shitake, miso dressing, wakame and sweet chilli. I had the vegan ramen soup for my main and a side of greens with soy and ginger. The starters were the stars of the show - the KFC was really spicy and the bao bun tasted of the sea. The ramen was tasty but not as punchy as the starters. Service was good and the staff were very friendly. The only vegan wine was the most expensive one on the menu of course (according to the sommelier). However, after a quick Google I discovered that one of the cheaper white wines was also vegan - the 2019 Les Archeres Vermentino for those who may be interested!

Vegan menu with yummy options

My partner and I had the vegan ramen, chickpea curry and shared the cauliflower.
The cauliflower is amazing. Next level, very good, if you like crispy cauliflower get this.
The chickpea curry again was amazing, we were expecting like indian style curry, but it was more thai style. However, definitely not disappointed.
The ramen let the meal down. It was a boring and bland. The mushrooms were great. However, the tofu was bland, i would go as far to say the chef doesn't know how to cook tofu. Lastly, the dish needed fresh coriander and some lemon or lime.
We had cocktails as well which were all amazing.
The service was very good as well, really friendly and helpful staff.

Amazing

One of my favourite local places to eat. Vegan food is always amazing, packed with flavour and colour. Worth ringing ahead and letting them know you’re vegan to get the best options available on the day. Always go the extra mile. Vegan wine is also great!
