Love to see it

Took us awhile to try this place since we don’t get out to Ballard often. It was inside a bakery, so it was a little hard to spot. It’s a vegetarian place but they can make most things vegan. Menu isn’t marked, so you’ll need to ask. They’re very friendly and happy to make recommendations. We tried the Ful Madames plate, lentil soup, spinach fatayer, and an eggplant dish. We wanted to try their hummus but they were out. Everything was good! I highly recommend the Ful. And do not sleep on their baked goods. If we ever come back we’d like to try the hummus bowl with garlic yogurt (which they can make vegan with cashew yogurt).

Super yummy cozy food

This restaurant was such a great find! The food was so good in a comforting homemade kind of way! We had a Lebanese Fattit Hummus (with vegan yogurt), a koshari bowl, and a side of Maghmour. The side dish was incredible... The staff were super nice too, and happy to explain things.
Will definitely come back!!

Best new restaurant I've tried in a long time!!!

So wonderful in so many ways. The food is so comforting, tasty and nourishing. My favorite is the Koshari. The family was so nice and helpful to let us know which things are vegan or can be made vegan. They can substitute plant-based yogurt for some of the dishes that contain yogurt. If I lived in Ballard, I'd be here all the time.

Pros: Food tastes amazing, Food is very nourishing (not greasy), Family is very nice and helpful

Deeeeelicous

Koshari is Egypt’s national dish + this was my first time trying it + ooooh, it won’t be my last. A wonderful mix of flavors + textures. (If you’re getting takeout, ask them to pack the fried onions separately so they stay crispy.)

I also tried the foul medammas sandwich + it has a nice tang. Cheap af too! If I lived closer, I’d be getting it on the reg.

Pros: flavors galore, friendly people

Cons: the criminal hot sauce could be more hardcore

Delicious and friendly!

A small family-owned joint (signage is limited, but it's in the same space as Salt & Sugar Cafe), many of the dishes are vegan, but not all. The owners are incredibly friendly and were so excited when we stopped in, I hope if more vegans go they will veganize the whole menu. The foul medammes was delicious, as was a spinach pie we got, and the portions are a great size for the price. None of the desserts (baklava, rice pudding, cookies) were vegan the night we visited, hopefully that changes.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly owners, Great portion sizes for the price

Cons: No vegan desserts, Not a fully vegan menu, Limited signage

Hello and thank you for your review. We love to read more on what our customers and community think. Now our menu can all be vegan as the only bowl that was vegetarian (Lebanese Fattit Hummus) is now available in vegan (Cashew Yogurt!).
For desserts, it’s worth mentioning that we now have Sahlab, a hearty velvety hot drink that comes with flavorful goodness! Stop by sometime and try it 😊
