Very few menu items available

We came around 9:00 a.m. and they had only noodles available which was about a third of their menu. We then went to order a coffee and the power went out for a short amount of time. When it came back on they said they were unsure if they could make coffee and that they would check but no follow up. Had a nice small chocolate bun and left

Pros: Baked goods

Cons: Disorganized staff, Most of menu unavailable

Good food, small portions, cheap prices

I had a burger, a ramen dish, summer noodles and a chocolate bun.

All of the food was good. It was not life changing, but I've gone to this place twice and would come back again.

The portions were rather small but so are the prices. You can easily eating two main dishes and maybe some dessert and still pay less than at several other places.

Pros: decent food, really affordable prices, good dessert

Amazing concept amazing prices

After a lengthy chat with one of the owners, we were introduced to the whole concept behind the vegan plant based food restaurant. It’s NOT located on the tourist “Disneyland” side of Sanur, so it’s target is actually the local Indonesian’s to show them that they can eat healthily whilst at a cheap price. $16,000 (USD$1.02) per noodle dish, which are all fantastic in quality, size and nourishment. By seeing ‘western tourists’ eat here, it only encourages more Balinese locals to try healthier eating alternatives.

Cheap and nutritious!

I was staying close by to Kood and was thinking about going to the grocery to get some supplies for the week, but I thought I'd stop in here for a meal first. Well! I realised that with these prices, it was cheaper for me to eat all my meals here than make my own at home!

The place is 'self-service' which basically means that you go in and place your order, give them your name and when it's ready they call it out and you pick it up from the counter. When you're done you clear your own plate at the station at the back of the room. This is perfect if you're someone with anxiety who doesn't like to speak to people often or who feels uncomfortable with servers hanging around you waiting to supply your every need. No sarcasm, I'm actually in love with this concept!

Once again, I want you to wonder with me, how do they keep their prices so low?

The place is huge, it's like a warehouse filled with tables and chairs, they're serving a LOT of food every day! I came on a sunday and there was hardly a seat empty in the whole place.

So, needless to say, I've been there a few times and tried several of the menu items. Almost daily I've had something from the bakery so I feel like I might be an expert on their menu now. So far the only 2 things I haven't had are the burgers and pizzas.

I can't even recommend one product to you over the others because they are all really good. The only down side is that some of the veggies are cold. They must cook everything in batches and have them in containers to dish out from and so overtime things get cold. The noodles however are cooked to order and have (so far) always been hot.

I had a latte which was really nice too. I don't know what milk they used, but they are a big fan of cashew milk that they make in house, so perhaps it was that. It tasted really good, nice and creamy and milky which a lot of coffees in Bali seem to lack when using plant milks. They also have a speciality coffee option which was described to me as being like a foam. Maybe it's like a frappe? Either way, I didn't get it because she said it was sweet, which is not what I'm after in my coffee, but if that's your thing then go for it.

What I especially like is that after you've put your order in and paid, they tell you that it's all plant-based! Like it's a little secret they've been keeping to surprise you with!

So, after all that, I'm saying go! Gorge yourself on all the plant-based godness and then go upstairs to the shop and stock up!

Pros: Incredibly affordable- cheaper than groceries!, That bakery!!!!, So many home-made plant based ingredients!

Cons: Sometimes the veg are cold, Not available on Grab

Nice concept + mostly locals

Recommended by a non-veg grab driver. Place has a nice interior and was not busy when we came at night. I was happy about the small portions and low prices, it meant we got to try lots of different things of the menu. Didn’t love the cinnamon roll and pretzel but the banana breads were really nice.

Fantastic food, smaller portions

This place was recommended to me by my Indonesian co-worker. I had a plate of fantastic-tasting spaghetti and an awesome cappuccino ice cream. The food is delicious and really cheap. Maybe I'm spoilt by massive portions of nasi campur in other Indonesian restaurants because the portion felt kinda small to me. I'd recommend ordering noodles and something else like a salad, but again it depends on each person's appetite.
Remember to go upstairs to check out their shop. They sell vegan snacks that are baked rather than fried. I bought crackers, corn something, and vegan instant noodles. Can't complain!
Hope they open a branch in Jimbaran.

Pros: Delicious food, Fantastic ice cream, Vegan snacks shop

Icecream is great!

Stopped here after a bicycle ride around the rice fields of Sanur and had the Bali Banana Icecream in a small cup. One of the best Icecreams I’ve ever had! Free Rosella tea too. Everything is vegan in the restaurant. Very cheap

Pros: Delicious vegan Icecream

Cons: Kleine Portionen , Schneller Durchlauf-etwas hektisch

Great vegan vibe

A cooperative restaurant, kitchen, and store with really well priced Indonesian food, burgers, and pizzas. Open, airy space with chill tunes and the happy bustle of a cooperative business. Upstairs is a small shop of vegan items, including interesting traditional Indonesian sweets and drinks as well as products made in the commercial kitchen on the top of the building.

Excellent cashew based ice cream too!

Great value, good bakery

Popular with locals (always a good sign), Kood has a good thing going. I was happy to discover (especially after reading mixed reviews here) to find that Kood did a nice job with my noodle dish (mie aiam jamur), which was wholesome and tasty — and even more surprised to find that they make a pretty good cinnamon roll, among numerous other bakery items. The peanut butter ice cream was tasty. I didn’t try the western food (burgers etc) so I can’t speak to those.

Service was sweet and helpful, and prices are reasonable. #Veganuary

Pros: I expensive, Great vegan ice cream, Good cinnamon rolls

Cons: Meals average tasting

Come for the sweets

Ice cream and cakes are exceptional. Really nice. Sadly can't say the same for the noodles or the burgers. Probably worst food I've ever eaten.

Hit or miss, cheap food though

I am updating my review after coming in person instead of ordering off grab. So the food isn’t amazing, that much is still true. It’s cheap, but you have to order two meals to get enough to eat, so you aren’t really saving much money. The bakery roti are nice though and the burger bun is really tasty. The cashew mylk is lovely, especially mylo. I’ve never had “real” milo, though, so can’t comment on similarities. I really like the cashew ice cream as well, particularly silver qween and peanut butter. The salted caramel flavor was strange.

Not to miss is the all vegan store above the restaurant!! They have samples to try their house brand stuff which are really good - I particularly loved the peanut butter sorghum Puffs. They sell 2l of cashew milk for cheap and it’s decadent. Their kombucha needs work though- it tastes like lotion?

Staff working are lovely too!

Ordering from grab results in a lot of unnecessary plastic; I wish they switched to paper boxes where possible; it’s best to come here in person instead. Also, the food doesn’t generally travel well being cheaper, fast food
