Serves meat, vegan options available. Chic restaurant in the city near the Cathedral, est. 2014. Offers Tuscan, international, and vegan food - as its slogan states. Selection of vegan dishes offered for every course (starters, mains, desserts). A decent choice to go with non-veg eaters. Removed May 2018 - serves veal.

Best vegan food in Florence - Edit
Although people here are complaining about „not too many choices for vegans“ - keep in mind, that this is not a vegan restaurant. It‘s a high class restaurant which serves high quality food - also vegan options. I had the „simple“ dish, Spaghetti with tomatoes and basilico, and it was a really good dish! For the fruit salad as a dessert, I had a very various and big portion of fruits. I absolutely loved it. More expensive than other places in Florence, but food quality is much higher than in other places!

Limited vegan options - Edit
We came here for dinner because of the stellar reviews, but there were only three vegan options. One for a starter, one pasta and one burger. The burger was listed as €24 which was a bit ridiculous for us. We are into fancy food but we also like options. There is also veal on the menu and we try to avoid places that serve veal and foie gras when possible.

Quite pricey but wonderful decor, food and service - deserves five stars - Edit
Came here for lunch on 26/03/2018 and loved it.
Read moreSpent €51 for two without alcohol but absolutely loved it.
The interior is very well-designed with some quirky lights and an indoor “terrace” of sorts with a glass ceiling and a tree.
The menu has meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan dishes and thus caters for all. On our visit there were probably 2 vegan starters, 3 mains all sides.
We had roast potatoes as a side and a primo and secondo each. The spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico were simple but incredibly tasty and I almost regretted not ordering two portions.
I then had a seitan burger which, although quite small, was very elegantly set out and tasted just as good.
Definitely recommend if you want a fancier meal!

Great vegan food - Edit
Eventhough Konnunio serves a lot of fish we had our best veggie-meal in Florence here. The food is freshly prepared and delicious and there is a variety of vegan desserts.

I summon thee, Seitan. - Edit
The food here was great, and I definitely recommend the gazpacho. They have a vegan menu page, with great options. They even replaced my non-vegan appetizer with a vegan one!

5 star worthy!! - Edit
Separate vegan menu with excellent options (like the arancini)!!! Smaller main meal courses are made up for the vegan "gifts" they kept bringing, like free soup, savory and sweet breads, and biscotti at the end of the night. Dessert very good but expensive. Perfect for vegans or not!

Great Veg-Friendly Location for Dinner - Edit
Konnubio has a very inviting interior and atmosphere and is a great place to relax and have some food after a long day of sightseeing in Florence. Particularly if you are traveling with omnis who may throw a tantrum if they don't have body parts to chomp on, this is a great choice. My caveat is this: dinner can be wonderful here, while lunch options are much more limited. For dinner, a vegan may have 5-6 options, while for lunch on some days, a vegan may only have the choice of the vegetarian salad, and have to ask to hold on the cheese. I'll update the review in the future if lunch options become more plentiful.

Fantastic! 5 stars - Edit
This is a 5 star review. Happy Cow won't allow 5 stars for non-veg places, which is a disservice as some places (like here) go above & beyond for vegans more than "vegan restaurants."
Read moreWe showed up on a busy Saturday night. We waited at the bar for a table, the drinks were amazing.
Once we got our table we opted for the vegan tasting menu. For our first course were out of seitan, so made our croquettes out of chickpea, much preferred anyways. Second was the chard soup, which was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So good. Followed by the main of "Potato Flan" which was also very tasty.
Tho the crown jewel was dessert. An aquafaba (chickpea brine) based meringue with raspberry sorbet and fresh raspberry & pineapple. AMAZING. Better dessert than most fancy all vegan restaurants I've been to.
The service was also great.
Pros: Vegan tasting menu, Dessert, Great bar

Nice, but not spectacular - Edit
I am vegan, daughter vegetarian, husband omni - so this seemed like the perfect place. It had rave reviews, so off we went. The decor is lovely and the staff also very nice. They speak English too.
Read moreThere was a surprise appetiser of carrot puree and popped rice that was very interesting. For starter I had farro, peas and zucchini flowers. It was just like risotto but for me, I think it would have been better if the flowers were tempura, as they were raw and not very appealing. I love tempura zucchini flowers.
My daughter had gazpacho with raw vegetable sticks that she said was amazing. We both had the potato flan which was disappointing. Basically mashed potatoes and herbs held together with a nice of aubergine. Beautiful presentation, but a bit boring. I think that vegan main dishes need to be balanced and include a protein component (legumes, tofu etc) to balance out the carbs. I felt like I was carb overloaded.
Having said that, I had to try to try the aquafaba pavlova with pineapple, berry gelato and soy cream. It was fabulous. My daughter had the chocolate something and said it was pretty good too. I liked it but perhaps I ordered the wrong main in the flan. If you have omni family, husband said his meal was good.
Pros: Good for groups of mixed dietary needs, Great atmosphere and decor, Nice staff
Cons: Some dishes could be better

Gourmet vegan options - Edit
Our last night in Florence and this was definitely my best meal. My spouse isn't vegan so I prefer places that satisfy both of us. I had a lovely rissoto with broccoli followed by an even better dessert with pineapple and a basil ice cream. I had a choice of 5 or 6 vegan entrees and 2 vegan desserts.

Excellent Birthday Dinner! - Edit
Went here for dinner with my Mum on my Birthday and it was just lovely! We didn't have a reservation and just wandered in, they were so welcoming and the waiter was so helpful when we were trying to decipher the menu. Very refined experience, yet you feel completely comfortable as the atmosphere is warm. The food itself was very nice, portions were small and it's a bit pricey but totally worth it. We didn't leave hungry! Go here if you're looking for an upscale restaurant experience with plenty of vegan options :)

Amazing! - Edit
This is a quite elegant restaurant. One of the three chefs is vegan, so you can count with lots of vegan options, include desserts. They also have black rice, which is not that common, even in Italy.

Excellent service - Edit
This place have excellent food and the best service I've ever had, especially considering that the place is quite affordable. They also have a separate section on the menu for vegan food. The waiter was very considerate and made a huge effort to make sure that my food was milk and gluten free.

wonderful experience - Edit
For our last meal in Florence, we chose to have lunch at Konnubio. We were the first customers right at noon, so we got a lovely table right by the window. It was delightfully cool and pleasant inside as it was hot outside. The service was wonderful as well. The waitress apologized that the vegan lasagna was not available, but suggested a pumpkin porcini gnocchi special instead which I ordered. However, that was not ready as well, so I ordered a bowl of pappa al pomodoro, which had quickly become a favorite of mine, and again, the waitress was profusely apologetic. Dirk got the porcini mushroom soup as mushrooms are one of his favorite things. All the vegan items are clearly marked on the menu, so we also ordered the spinach and beans as sides. The waitress even suggested a beer pairing for Dirk that was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious. We also got digestifs on the house afterwards. The whole experience, between the atmosphere, food and service, was one of the best of our trip. We left refreshed and satiated.

Very fancy place with beautiful decor. As I didn't have a reservation, I had to wait, but they gave me complimentary champagne and apologised (unnecessarily) for the delay. I was very impressed! My food was amazing, and the wait staff made the experience very enjoyable.
