Loco Moco! - Edit
Be adventurous and try the Loco Moco... get extra gravy and salsa if you can. A super filling breakfast option! Lunch/dinner options updated in 2023… the Kona Stir-Fry has great flavors and nice, chewy noodles.

A nice respite outside the parks - Edit
The Kona Cafe is a moderately priced (for WDW) table service restaurant located in Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Because the resort is serviced by the monrail, it is easy to get to from the Magic Kingdom, or one of the other resorts on the monorail line. In fact, given its location, it's easy enough to leave the Magic Kingdom for lunch or dinner and return later in the day.
Read moreAs with the rest of Walt Disney World, Kona Cafe now includes plant based options on its menu, though I have heard some options were previously available. These include the following breakfast items: Plant-based Loco Moco, Steel-cut Oatmeal with Apples, and a Fresh Fruit Cup. For other meals they offer the following: Vegetable Bowl, Vegetable Nigiri
Grilled Broccolini (Dinner Only). Grilled Asparagus (Dinner Only), Coconut Tapioca with Fresh Fruit.
The Vegetable Bowl is actually a vegetable based noodle soup containing tofu, pineapple, peanuts and vegetables. Very filling and very tasty. The coconut tapicoa served as a nice end to lunch. My only complaint was that the portion was small (as was the other dessert options offered during lunch).
During my most recent visit I also visited the Cafe for breakfast. Knowing that they once had a plant based version of one of the restaurant's specialties, Tonga Toast, I asked if it was possible to order the plant based version even though it was not on the menu. Without batting an eye, the Cast Member (i.e., waiter) said yes. Tonga Toast is banana-stuffed french toast rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a strawberry compote, The non plant based version comes with either ham, spiced ham, bacon, or sausage. The plant based version came with a plant based sausage. Like the vegetable bowl, the Tonga Toast was delicious and very filling.
Like all restaurants at WDW, reservations are all but required. That said, if you go at off times you can be seated right away without reservations.
Pros: Good food, Wonderful staff
