Exercise caution

We went here after a day at Kouri Island, excited by the good reviews on Happy Cow and Google. The location is easy to miss without GPS. Parking is limited. The ambience is excellent — a cozy spot with jazz and Thai food in the jungle. It appears to be run by the chef who does not have a strong command of English. Perhaps because he is cooking food while taking orders and handling customers, he came across as a bit unfriendly. Unfortunately we were unable to try the vegan plate because they were sold out. We asked about the Thai curry noodle being made vegan, and got a terse response. We probably should have taken out Google Translate but we felt pressured to order quickly, so we forged ahead. The curry noodle came out with chicken. But we were also surprised to receive a weekly plate that was not vegan. Our drink order was also wrong. In the end, there was little we could eat and felt terrible that this home cooked food was wasted. We paid and left. I think this is probably a good find when they have the vegan option but I just want to share our experience if it helps others.

Delicious food and atmospheric place

Folksy and atmospheric restaurant with a very kind owner who also gives parties in the evening. The vegan curry plate was delicious

One of my Okinawa faves!

So it’s been a while… but I really like this place, especially when they’ve got a bonfire going. The vegan food is great and they’ve got a good assortment of second hand items. Usually they’ve got nice music playing.

Would give 5 stars if possible⭐️

Best food in Okinawa

Best food we’ve had in Okinawa so far! Would’ve rated 5 stars if I could. The owner was really sweet and he even ran to the garden to pick a hibiscus flower for my drink. The curry plate was really flavorful! The ambience is really nice and relaxed. Would definitely recommend!

I also recommend checking out their Facebook page on the day you’re visiting, because they post their opening times and other specifics daily. We thought it closed at 17:00 because google maps said so, but they were open until 21:00!
