Cozy and friendly - Edit

We came 8 pm on a Friday night. It is a cozy place run by young people. You will feel at home easily. Had a sandwich with hummus dry tomato pineapple coriander for 5e and a great herbal tea for 3e. Would definitely come back

Pros: atmosphere

Friendly non-commercial space - Edit

Kolo is a one of a kind cafe in Kallio, Helsinki. It is a non-commercial space which means you can just come and hang out without buying anything. There is books and magazines for you to read. There are also lots of local artists playing music or reading poetry so be sure to check their FB/IG for those free events. It's a chill place and completely vegan - also hosts vegan movie nights with activists. And yet it's not an elitist place in the slightest - everyone is welcome! :)

Good place to work or hang out - Edit

I had a really pleasant afternoon at Kolo. I ordered a sandwich, a lemonade and a coffee and it felt nice to not even have to inquire about vegan options (since everything is vegan). The sandwich was very nice and freshly made, and I also enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the place. Kolo is also particularly suited for meeting friends or getting some work done as it is quiet enough (the music is kept at a pleasant volume) and nobody will look at you strangely for not ordering a second drink as soon as you've finished your first. I had somehow expected more moderate prices (4 € for a lemonade and 2.50 € for a tiny cup of filter coffee are a bit steep in my opinion) but then again it doesn't really differ from other places in that area. They also host a lot of events, so it's worth checking out their facebook page!

Chill living room - Edit

I have been to Kolo twice this spring. I have enjoyed one of their smoothies and also their homemade kombucha.
The drinks variety is in my opinion good. And they also have some food. The prices are very cheap for Helsinki.
My friend and I also met one of the volunteers running the cafe, who told us how the idea came about and the current activities.
Kolo is a very friendly laid-back place to spend time at.

Pros: Vegan, One may be inside without making any purchase, Cheap
