5 stars for the grilled vegan Halloumi on its own! - Edit
Belgrade maybe a highly polluted city in a meat head culture but it now has a growing number of excellent vean options which makes me smile! Kokos is on Nušićeva which is a short partly pedestrianised street in the centre of the city. It's easy to walk past it and not relise they do food, it looks like a bar. Do ot be fooled they have a decently varied menu with many vegan options. The grilled Halloumi was a stand out winner for us, probably the best warm vegan cheese experience I have had. Avoid the "Best Burger" because it isn't. The Billionaire Mushroom Oysters were on the otherhand delicious! They do three very tasty raw cakes, maybe they should expand that part of the menu especially in the cooler months!
Read moreService is good and freindly. They have DJ's playing sometimes but you can hide in the partially outdoor section if they annoy you.
Recommended.
Pros: Some exceptional vegan offerings., Very central, Good service
Cons: Not all vegan, Bit expensive but worth it.

Not great - Edit
Okay honestly the other reviews were totally accurate. The food lacked flavor, was a bit oily from the coconut cheese, and was overall underwhelming. I tried the vegan halloumi, which needed salt and didn’t have that classic halloumi texture. It was more like a soft cheese spread. The pear flatbread was also not very tasty and was dripping oil from the cheese. The beet juice was delicious.

Interesting vibe but good meal - Edit
The kitchen closes at 8pm, so make sure you arrive before then. I arrived at 10 to 8 so I felt like they rushed me a bit. The food was good in flavour but an unexpected texture. Nonetheless it was a decent feed.

Fast food like vegan bistro - Edit
We ordered two types of burgers. I appreciate that burgers are home made but buns are not obviously, and I expected that for that price. But anyway food was tasty and stuff was friendly, so I will come back again probably.

Delish food and drinks - Edit
I had dinner here one evening and tried one of the flatbread starters and a mushroom dish. My husband had one of the burgers. All the food was really good and there were plenty of vegan options. They also had a great selection of drinks, like juices and alcoholic beverages. Staff was great and spoke excellent English.

Nice restaurant - Edit
Nice food, many options! Burger was tasty, and soup was just enough since i wasnt that hungry. Tho there could have been bigger fries with burger and some protein in the soup.

Food lacks flavor - Edit
The pad thai was tasteless. There was no flavor, it was just very oily but lacked salt and spiciness. The pad thai recipe should be improved. The oyster mushroom and melted vegan cheese on grilled bread was better. Portions are big, but the prices are high. Hopefully we can try some better meals next time we visit.

Ordered minestrone and risotto. Minestrone was oversaulted. Risotto was nothing interesting. Okay, it is vegetarian food but it’s really average.

Nice little vegatarian restaurant with a lot of vegan options. In the city center which is amazing. They serve alcohol, and they have some nice cocktails. Portions ate at the smaller size tbh. Some of the items are a bit pricy for what it is.

Horrendous Service - Edit
Delicious pizza, but some of the most atrocious service I’ve received. Tried to charge us for a dish we sent back for being undercooked. The server said “if everyone who sent their food back didn’t have to pay, we would lose a lot of money.” Wow, so it happens often and they force people to pay? Interesting. Would not recommend or return.

That's friggin disgusting yet hilarious. Maybe as a restaurant, they should try selling edible food to make money? 🤣

Right?! The audacity. The fact that they can’t even see what they just admitted to was mind boggling. It irks me when vegan and vegetarian places which should be advocating for kindness and compassion treat people like shit and don’t actually practice these values among all animals- including the human ones which are supporting the business.

Thanks love. Yeah, it’s too bad because it’s really a cute place and the bar attender was nice and professional. But to be treated with a lack of respect- it triggers the justice fighter in me. Well, onto the next place.

If you'd end up losing a lot of money from too much returned plates, then, start paying more attention & make plates how they ordered it & stop making as much mistakes so you lose less money, then... 🤷🏽♂️ This kind of service i dislike, the attention to the client is very important, the quality of food is of great importance (sometimes also quantity).

To me, almond milk is like the most basic (and plantmilk choice by default) of all plant milks, so, i'm glad the better ones like soy & oat are 20,00 cheaper however much that is, idk how much that'd be in American cents.🤔
Read moreHuraiquire
Agree. Don’t punish the customer for the business’s mistakes. I worked kitchens for years and am happy when people return plates because I can learn from my mistakes and make it better. It does cost money, but It’s an investment in better food and service. The plant milk is $0.50-0.70 more, which why? Charge extra for cow milk. It costs the life of an animal. Or make a higher fixed price for milk added to coffee in general, regardless of the type. Charging for plant milk means locals are more likely to choose the “affordable” option aka cow milk, which hurts the environment, the movement, and just makes healthier choices less attainable for students and low income people.

Disappointing - Edit
The deco of this place is definitely its strong point. It's a cool, modern, sleek place. Service is fast. But one soon notices that:
Read more- vegan options are not clearly marked
- non-dairy milk is charged extra
- the waiter does not take the time to listen (e g the friend I had lunch with asked if the burrito was served warm, was told it was, and then was served a cold burrito)
By far a greater disappointment was the food. We ordered: a broccoli miso concoction; and one vegan burrito. The broccoli miso was OK but halfway through it, it is so bland I was really bored with it. And the vegan burrito had very very undecooked chickpeas in it. We asked for it to be replaced, which it was, with a vegan pizza, which was tasty and the best dish overalll.
Things got even worse with the bill: they tried to charge us for the order we had returned! When my friend explained she hadn't eaten the burrito with undercooked chicpeas for obvious reasonsl, the waiter said "imagine if all the food that is turned back isn't paid for". Makes one think it happens often around here... Anyway, when he finally took it off the bill, he made sure we knew how upset he was ...
Pros: Nice deco
Cons: Food is bland/undercooked , Plant based milk charged extra, Vegan options not clearly marked
LliguerPR96
I see this is their usual response & someone else's review had mention they usually say "imagine if all the plates returned were not paid for... we'd lose a lot of money". They make too much mistakes, it seems. Hate this kind of service especially from animal corpses-free restaurants.
Read moreLliguerPR96
I understand when they are vegetarian or vegan restaurants, these types of restaurants dont get too much economic support. Hence why a lot of these restaurants end up closing permanently. Usually carnist restaurants dont care about that since they probably take baths in money, so losing some money from non-animal plates here and there, that's not a big deal to them, since they dont really lose money, they gain so much with the animal corpses, animal products plates.

Everything is vegi with vegan options.
Read moreHad vegi lasagna, grilled cauli on pea and avocado sauce thing, and grilled oyster mushrooms on baguette with cheese melted on top.
Got served immediately and food came quickly and appeared to be fully fresh. Everything tasted immaculate.
Dj playing immaculate vibes about 4pm. Staff spoke English and were friendly.
All round 10/10; get yourself there as a vegi in Belgrade. Nothing bad to say.
Paid £17 for 3 main dishes which were extremely large and incredible value for money.
