Has a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. Open Mon 10:00am-6:00pm.

Located in the covered shopping street Obiya-machi Arcade, Kochi cafe has a casual, welcoming atmosphere and serves a daily vegetarian lunch special , with brown rice and salad. coffee, tea, other beverages , a vegan baked dessert (that day, a ginger spice cookie) and other non -vegan parfaits, cakes, etc. are on the menu. The coffee is dark and aromatic, portions are reasonable and service is quick.
Kochi cafe is a few steps away from the arcade's entrance to Hirome Market, a warren of food stalls and bars, not touristy but thronged with locals , where I noticed two veg-friendly options: an Indian restaurant connected to the Ashanti clothing store, and a big noodle shop that listed shio ramen and miso ramen among its choices (ask to be sure that these are vegan). Nearby , on Sundays, is the sprawling local farmers market , on Otesuji-dori, with prepared food (baked goods, rice balls) for sale, an array of fresh fruits & veg from the area & some artisan craft stalls.
