tasty, vegan friendly, super nice! - Edit

Lovely little place, although not all vegan food, all is vegetarian and I was told most things can be made vegan by asking for no cheese. Would definitely recommend this place! Super tasty food and really helpful friendly staff

Pros: Good price as well!

vegan mole poblano? Si hay! - Edit

A cute, casual, friendly little place, where you can get traditional Mexican food. While the menu has lots of vegetarian options, they are very vegan friendly. It's the only place I've found vegan mole poblano, and you have to try the pulque!

Pros: vegan mole poblano

on the base of largest pyramid in the world - Edit

Happy I found and turned at them ( just because they have such a long working hours ) while on the road from Canada to Costa Rica. I learned that it's highly historical place. UFO possible Vulcano, largest pyramid in the world (70pesos to visit..but nothing special their)

Food was great and adjusted easy

Oweners so much serving and spending time and knows ok English.
Ask about Krishnamurti ( good bunch of DVD they have)

Pros: simplistic atmosphere with loads of greens integra, a lot natural ingredients, on the base of largest pyramid in the world (choos

Cons: I wouldn't say it's crazy cheap especially their d, I think they are forced by owners to have an alcoh

Great atmosphere and food - Edit

Use your gps to find this place. Enter off the street, pass a ticket booth type counter on left, continue down hall, pop head into kitchen area on left to make sure you are seen. Head up rustic stairs on left to roof top dining area. There is a little shop up there as well, that sells herbal remedies, and local crafts. You are sitting in a shaded area in the treetops of the courtyard. It is wonderful. If you go up one more flight of stairs you can view the city. The menu is in local terms, so may not be easy to decipher. We had help from some locals. Had the enchiladas verdes, hand made tortillas with refried beans and green enchilada sauce (it was amazing) Asked for a non dairy drink, had mango agua fresca, so good. Came back another time as it was so great.

Pros: Great atmosphere, All vegetarian/vegan ingredients, fresh made, accepts credit cards

Cons: can be hard to find, menu in local terms so difficult to understand

My first vegan mole - Edit

As the menu was not so clear on what was vegan and what was not, I asked the waiter to help me. He proposed tortillas filled with beans and covered with red mole sauce. I added one avocado and found it very good. The papaya juice was perfect and huge. I appreciated that it was not necessary to mention without sugar. I wonder though in what extent they can veganize their mostly vegetarian menu.

Pros: Service, Tasty mole

Cons: Windy terrace

The gem of Cholula! - Edit

Absolutely wonderful find! I was served by a young kid named "Jade" who was practicing her English with me and it was super cute. It is very close to Cholula's pyramid with the church on top. They graciously made food when a friend and I came in right before closing and as well they serve pulque which I had totally wanted to try. This is a definitely Mexican hippie-vibe type of place, and they completely understood veganism and catered to me. Excellent experience! Note: they also sell handicrafts as well as Mexican DVDs.

Pros: beautiful building, beautiful staff , earthy mexican hippieness, they serve yummy juice!

Cons: maybe hard to find, look for the sign, closes early

Great find! - Edit

We were thrilled to come across this wonderful little restaurant; nothing else in Cholula compares. The artfully prepared traditional cuisine is delicious and uses fresh, local ingredients. The manager, Israel, is very friendly and happy to make recommendations. He is an exponent of "slow food" and healthy eating. He creates complex and tasty moles and salsas. We ate here three times and without exception everything was delicious.

Pros: excellent food, healthy options, creative

Cons: limited hours
