The health food restaurant Makrovega is located in the city center, in a cozy environment on the first floor. Most dishes are vegan and macrobiotic, there is usually a daily menu with a variety of dishes such as soups, lasagna, pizza, pasta, vegetables, cereal, legume, cakes, and crepes. The main courses are for 23HRK. Main dishes, besides vegetables, often contain tofu, tempeh or seitan. Note: closed in the periods Dec 20 to Jan 10 and Aug 7 to Aug 20. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-5:00pm.

a cute place and an amazing staff! everything is so good and home made. we had a great time a we got a worm welcom to Croatia.. we wormly recommed this place!

The food at this restaurant is amazingly good. If you happen to find yourself in Rijeka looking for a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, this is your place to try. It's like eating at your friend's place, but with a vegan chef in the kitchen. Great prices, excellent food and super friendly staff.

The food is great: from the minestrone to the fried zucchini.
I also had fried seitan, pumkin pie (salty)and cereal rissole.
Nice ambient, not an usual restaurant, and a very friendly personal.
Absolutly recommanded!

Simple place with fantastic vegetarian and vegan food. Prices are more than fair, unique place in Rijeka :-)

Hearty, yummy, comfort food in a cosy little restaurant. The staff is very friendly. Portions are large (try ordering half a portion if you're not sharing). Almost all of the dishes are vegan. I try to eat there every time I visit Rijeka (sometimes they're on a holiday though).

I´ve been there yesterday with my wife and my son, absolutely great located in the heart of Rijeka, you will not believe that there is a restaurant, located in an apartment first floor. All the food was vegan and the people there pretty nice.

Loved it !
First floor of a building, don't be shy just push the door and find a cosy restaurant set into a flat,
The staff is lovely and helpful, the food is super cheap (48 Kunas for two!), it's homemade, filling, tasty and healthy, chill out atmosphere
Only thing I didn't like was the plastic plates and cutlery

This place is a lifesaver every day I don't feel like cooking. It is very affordable (around 3€ for a main course, everything else costs even less), the portions are decently sized and the food is delicious, with a homemade feel to it. The staff is friendly and ready to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Most of the food is vegan, some days all of it. The place is a little hard to find, on the first floor of a building, and the service is fast food -like rather than restaurant-like i.e. self service and plastic plates, but it's cozy and clean.
Very much recommended, especially if you're on a budget.
There is no delivery service, but they can prepare food for take out.
Pros: excellent, healthy food, inexpensive, friendly staff
Cons: maybe a little hard to find
