Serves meat, vegan options available. Bavarian restaurant with beer garden attached to a brewery. Vegan options are labeled and include salads, falafel bowl, fries, vegetable curry, and sorbets. Note: Vegan dishes are labeled with a green "V". The "VG" label appears to be reserved for vegetarian options, but the online menu incorrectly labels at least one dish, which contains meat, as vegetarian. If in doubt, double check with staff. Modernized Bavarian approach, safe for vegans

Fantastic option to go to a Bavarian beer garden with my local non-vegan relatives where even I as a vegan could safely find yummy and creative options served by staff who know veganism. Vegan and vegetarian options were marked differently on the online and paper menu, so I asked our waitress to be on the safe side, but there were several vegan options to chose from.

I had a Kloster Bowl with extra falafel - a perfect choice for a hot summer day, but a little bit over-prized for the region and the add-on falafel. Five rather small pieces of falafel at 4.70€ on top of the 14.80€ for the bowl as such was too expensive, in my opinion. The falafel looked home-made and were quite yummy, but not sensational to an extent to justify the price. Nevertheless, it was one of the most delicious vegan options I ever had in a rather traditional Bavarian beer garden in rural Lower Bavaria.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and I look forward to trying the vegan curry when visiting my relatives next time. Recommended!

Updated from previous review on 2024-08-25: Revisited in April 2025 and the paper menu we were handed apparently has more vegan options. I tried the Ackersüppchen, which was yummy but ridiculously overpriced for some 4-5 spoons of soup at 6,10€. Also, I noticed later that the online menu only marks this soup as vegetarian, not as vegan, which spoiled the experience for me. The salad "Klostergarten" was fine but not filling enough for the price equalling a main course. When I asked the waitress if they now had plant milk for coffee, she laughed about me as if I had asked for vegan caviar with edible gold - nope, certainly not. Experience was less good than at the first time, so I downgrade it to three stars.
