Cute place, friendly staff - Edit
We enjoyed stopping at this very cute place for an afternoon snack. I had the veggie pita. It wasn’t fancy, but it was tasty and satisfying. The proprietor came and chatted with us, and he was friendly and funny, even with the language barrier. We all showed off our cat photos. 😸

A very cute and cosy cafe/shop with tasty vegan food and goodies. I brought my own aluminium take away container because I was on the go and the friendly staff were happy to fill it up with their curry (also couldn’t go past the chocolate cake). I’m in Japan long term so was excited to see organic peanut butter, apple cider vinegar and other nik naks for sale as well.

So good - Edit
I stopped here after walking 17 miles around Kyoto and it was perfect. The owner was really nice and the food was delicious. The menu was set for the day and I order the dinner pita (pita, lettuce and veggie patty) and the dessert pita (peanut butter and banana pita). Also, yes, I ordered 2 meals... I walked 17 miles so I deserved it. IT WAS AMAZING! Also, I ordered some rose petal black tea and loved that as well. Also, I love cats so all the kitten merchandise was a welcome site.

Nice little tea cafe with vegan store - Edit
Nice little cafe with a large selection of different teas (not just Japanese) and a store with various vegan foods (Lara bars, gummy candies, sauces, etc.) and some knick-knacks. Prices in the cafe are very reasonable, but food items in the store can generally be purchased for much cheaper online if you're going to be in Japan for a while.
Read moreI ordered a soy chai with rum flavour and a piece of chocolate cake. No complaints about the drink. The flavour of the cake was nice, but it was rather dry.
Pros: Prices in the cafe are fair, Friendly staff, Large selection of tea
Cons: Store is expensive, Chocolate cake was dry

Lovely - Edit
Easy to find, the owner speaks good english, its a very small menu but all vegan. We had the salad pita and curry (which comes with a small side salad) for lunch, both delicious! The curry was like a dahl and the pita had some kind of potato falafel things inside. We then had a slice of chocolate cake which was also nice. The cinamon tea was exquisite. They also have wine and sake.

Cozy Cafe - Edit
I spent a couple hours here, drinking tea and eating cake. It's more of a teahouse than restaurant, with the food offered serving better to accompany the tea than as a meal. Still definitely worth a visit.

Great, but small portions - Edit
We came here to try the pita sandwiches for lunch. We each got one order, and when they came out we realized they were much tinier than we had thought. One order comes with two halves of a sandwich, filled with some veggies and a fried croquette-like thing (not falafel) in each half. We finished our own orders and realized we were still hungry because they were so small, so we had to order one more sandwich to share. Because of this, this place is actually more expensive than it seems when you take into account that you'll probably need to order more food to fill yourself up. Though it's still not too expensive.
Read moreA few nice touches:
- I ordered a cup of hot tea, which the owner refilled for free after we ordered the third sandwich.
- He provided a really nice hot sauce with the sandwiches.
- He gave us information about a vegan market/festival/event that was coming up in a few weeks.
Pros: Really tasty.
Cons: Small portions.

Vegan Delights - Edit
Nice and affordable home-made vegan lunches and treats, and they also sell some organic herbal teas and have loads of cat paraphernalia. When I was there they had a cat photo exhibition which was organised by a local artist who made cat ornaments (the ornaments are available for purchase). The owners are the nicest people I’ve met in Japan (possibly the world) and really made my Kyoto trip that much more amazing. Worth stopping by for lunch or even just a quick afternoon tea.

Cute cafe with delicious food - Edit
We came here today for a late lunch. I had the pita sandwich which was very tasty. It was quite small but ok for the price (¥700). My boyfriend had the veggie curry which he declared the best curry he’s had in Japan (and we’ve been here over three weeks!). It was wonderfully flavourful and not too spicy. It came with a drink (we chose the aromatic tulsi tea) included in price (¥1000). The owner understood English and was very friendly. I also enjoyed the selection of the cute cat-related souvenirs. Sadly, we’re leaving Kyoto tomorrow morning, otherwise we’d definitely be back.

lovely ❤️ - Edit
The food is delicious and made with love, they have a few sandwiches and cakes in the food menu. We got a peanut butter and banana pita, a pita with something like a vegan patty and hot chocolate to drink in a reallyyyy cold day and it was sooooo good and filling! We enjoyed it very much. Also, the owner is so kind and nice, I wish I could stay longer in Tokyo just to visit this place again.

Warm feelings all over. The tea is very special. The sandwich, the cake and muffin great. The people were so sweet and friendly. Can't wait to visit Kyoto again and pay them another visit. The shop is also great and we got some amazing soap and peanut butter chocolate bar.

Sweet little cafe - Edit
I liked this cafe a lot! The owners are very kind and I enjoyed chatting with them. It’s completely vegan, organic, and there were little cat things everywhere. The menu is simple with a selection of cakes, muffins, sandwiches, and specials. I went twice and enjoyed everything I ate. The hour listed on HappyCow might not correct though, the owner said they open at 2:00pm on Thursday and Friday.

Lovely cafe - Edit
First of all, the food is really nice. Also, the man who works here is so kind. I asked if I could charge my phone and they didn't have any spare outlets, so he went to another building to get a solar panel and plugged my phone in. I was really touched that he went to so much effort for me. I would definitely come back here as the food was great and the kind man was wonderful.

cute little cafe in Gojo - Edit
this place is really friendly and nice. They sell scones, hot and cold drinks and they also do lunches, but I've yet to try those. It's very conveniently located outside Gojo station, and an easy walk from Kyoto station. You can also buy veggie sausage snacks to eat on the go, which are hard to find in Japan, and good to keep hold of if you're hiking around.

3 1/12 not 4 - Edit
Definitely more of a souvenir/tea shop then cafe. Selection was some sweets, a toast set and a pita sandwich. Sandwich was was really good and filling. But the lemon coconut scone was the most pitiful pastry I've ever ordered, for 200 yen literally the circumference of my thumb. Like a toy scone and not that good either

Cozy cafe close to Keihan Gojou station with a dozen or so lunchtime vegetarian sets for 950yen that include soup, salad, rice, drink and dessert. I didn't see any cats, but ya know, cats sleep a lot.
