Vegetarian!!! - Edit

We've been near Dissengof st ' and look for Vegan restaurants via Happy cow app recommendation. The place is NO longer VEGAN.

Cons: Very Disappointing!!!

Good food, cheap ambiance - Edit

According to the employee the restaurant is in the process of rolling out new menu items to expand the limited menu. Currently, kitniya serves two main dishes, hummus-like spreads served with pita bread and stewlike legume-based sauces served with rice. We ordered a sampling of 3 hummus spreads (red lentil, pea, and Lima bean) and an artichoke mushroom curry stew served with rice. The food was pretty good but the ambiance leaves room for improvement, feeling more like a cheap falafel stand. The hummus dips were served in little bowls on a sterile metal tray with a pita on a piece of stiff paper. The stews are kept on the counter in a row of cheap looking pots on top of a warming plate together with some dried stew dripping down the sides. Back to the positive side, the employee was very friendly, explained each dish in detail and offered samples before we ordered. Don't be deterred by the ambiance and give kitniya a try but don't expect anything fancy.

Pros: Location, Food

Cons: Selection , Ambiance

Great Place! Very Recommended! - Edit

The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good and satisfying.
We tried and liked the peas spread and the rice dishes.
We'll definitely come back.

For special food requirements - most dishes don't contain gluten, and the place is kosher (supervised by the Rabanut of Tel-Aviv)

Pros: price, tasety, location

Cons: none

Delicious and Different - Edit

It was confusing to us at first, as they have only been open a few weeks and have no English menus yet. Basically, you get a spoon of three different legumes over three different purees (which are sort of hummus-based). Or you can get them over a rice-lentil mix. You get nice pitas and dips on the side. It was really delicious! What else can I say?
It doesn't look like a ton of food, but we were quite full after eating. The owner is really nice and friendly. I'm happy to be the first reviewer, but other customers were enjoying their meals as well. There is outdoor seating too.

Pros: Very nice atmosphere, Delicious
