I have been to Kitchen dances twice with my wife and daughter and feel at this point the name should be changed to Room For Improvement. The first time we went the chef/owner was very nice and accommodating with food that was served fresh hot and tasty. The second time we went the chef/owner barely made eye contact did not smile and seemed disengaged. Although he was understandably busy there is no excuse for being blatantly rude. My wife ordered a bowl of soup which he said he had about a bowl left and that was going to someone else. My wife then asked will you be having any more soup of which the owner/chef said (mind you without making eye contact) "oh ya let me take a break from this and go make some soup." He then snickered to himself and glanced over at his assistant and shook his head. There are far too many choices in Portland to have this kind of behavior on any level. The food is marginal already and with the Dread Genie and his never smiling cutter of a Dread assistant to help out they wont last.

Just a quick update on my review: I have now had 5 of the dishes served at Kitchen Dances and I love this place more than ever!! I had the raw golden beets ravioli today and I took my time with every bite. Sooo so good :) I'll be back soon (this weekend??).
I am so glad to have gone here tonight with my boyfriend. We split the Peanut Wrap and the Tofu Reuben sandwich. Both were AMAZING...and that is no exaggeration. They use fresh, local ingredients (some they grow themselves) and must do some magic that I didn't see, because the dishes were incredibly tasty and also generously portioned. I'm taking my friend there tomorrow. I can't wait to try the Rawvioli (made with beets!). The owners/chefs are awesome, too. You will not be one bit disappointed in this place.
