Authentic kitakata ramen (vegan)

My vegan partner and I (non veg) ordered online the Creamy Vegan Ramen & Miso Vegan Ramen (regular). Making it spicy with Spicy Miso Paste is extra. I assume the spicy miso add-on is vegan because the online ordering didnt specify allergens & the menu pic in google reviews show the spicy option next to it. We decided to go for non-spicy to be safe & to get a base feeling.

We were surprised at the temperature of the food. Broth was warm, toppings & noodles were cold & in its own separate bag. Together it made lukewarm ramen. Bright side is no microplastics will melt into the food. I'm assuming it's done that way since we weren't dining in, it mustve meant we were eating somewhere else. If at work or home, we'd mostly have access to a microwave. But we were hungry for dinner, and home was a ways away, so we ravished it in some parking lot lol. So yeah, if you do online ordering or delivery, keep in mind you may have to heat things up yourself.

Despite all of that, both were really good. Tofu topping was deliciously marinated. Broth was flavorful. Noodles had the signature chew of kitakata style ramen. We agreed it would be 10/10 if only it were hotter, and lamented we didn't have easy access to a microwave at that time.

Also random, but their disposable bamboo chopsticks are impressively high quality. The break is clean and the sticks have no sign of splinters. I'm obsessed y'all. Most takeout places do the cheap plywood that scratches the skin, but Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai will treat you & your hands right.

Next time I will try the spicy version, and maybe we will dine-in so the ramen will be hot!

Pros: Flavor, On-time pick-up, Chopstick quality

Cons: Online ordering pick up temperature (subjective)
