The food was very cold

Their vegan menu included almost only cold foods which I don’t expect in a teishoku, at least not in the colder months. (I went there in march) The daikon was cold as it came out of the fridge. It’s nice that they use organic produce.
It’s a health food restaurant so everything is only lightly flavored. This might be too bland for some people.

Great food and location

The vegan lunch course, Hatake lunch, is delicious and changes a little every week. You can also add soup, salad and a drink. They also have vegan muffins and brownies. It’s located on motomachi’s famous shopping street, so it’s really easy to get there.

great service as good price for the meal!

The price for the lunch set was awesome. You really do get a lot of good food for an affordable price. Their soup was phenomenal and their vegan croquette was tasty. Will definitely come back again!

Unusually good Japanese standards

I went for dinner, which started at 5 p.m. Like many small restaurants, they have a time where they only serve desserts and drinks between lunch and dinner, so check the times before you go.

I agree with the previous review- although the sets are the same as Japanese vegan restaurants might serve (fried gluten, tofu, rice with dried tea furikake on top), the food is unusually delicious! I usually don't like daikon with miso, but this daikon was so sweet and good. Likewise, I don't usually care for cream soups, but the potato creamy soup (an add-on to the set, I believe) was so good. I even liked the soft tofu with miso and mushrooms. A restaurant that can make me like my hated foods is very good indeed!

The set drinks were interesting- instead of the usual coffee or tea they had alcohols or juices. I chose a carrot juice as the set drink.

I liked the soy latte and brownie, but not the tofu cream that came with the brownie. It could have been a bit smoother. (The brownie might not have been vegan-I forgot to confirm- I'll try to get more info if I go back.)

They serve real chicken, fish and so on so you have to say you are vegan when ordering.

They can make vegan bento if you call and request one ahead of time. Their bento was listed as 1000 jpy.

A must-visit

A little gem of a restaurant, hidden in plain sight. That’s how we felt upon discovering Kiseki no Shokutaku, located on the third floor of a building on the main shopping street in Motomachi.

This restaurant serves meat and fish, but vegan meals are available anytime, and all the desserts are vegan as well. We got the Hatake no Gohan set.

It was the usual spread one sees at Japanese vegan restaurants— brown rice, pickles, miso soup, fried soy meat— but it was unusually delicious. The soy meat was spectacular! It tasted of ginger and was covered in some sort of amazing vegan egg salad. My second favorite dish was the thick, creamy, comforting, and delightfully pink beet soup.

The restaurant is bright and inviting, and the staff truly understand veganism. Definitely pay them a visit!
