Great Little Health Food Shop

Tiny but consistently good. They stock lots of interesting veggie and vegan fridge and frozen items. Also brands like Faith in Nature, Weleda, and Ecover. Very good range of fruit/herbal teas, some vegan chocolate. Update on previous post: they now take card payment.

Fantastic Independent store.

Not huge, but packs a lot of stock into a small space. They have a good supply of fridge/freezer basics.

Pros: Helpful knowledgeable staff, Good supply of independent vegan brands, Independent store

Cons: Not huge (but still good).

Lots of variety, takes cards

I've been using this store off and on for about 15 years. The owner is very helpful and will order things in for you if he doesn't regularly stock them. He has a good variety of vegan items in store.

Good little shop - Bring cash

Good little shop with fridge and freezer items, packaged bulk foods (nuts, grains, etc.), jars, cans and cartons, three brands of egg-free mayo, teas, personal care products (toothpaste, etc.), chocolate and snack bars. They nicely wrap up frozen items in paper for carrying home. Note: Accepts CASH only.

Pros: locally operated (good alternative to H&B chain), good selection of products, esp. bulk-packaged

Cons: Cash only, no crisps/chips and other salty snacks

Well Stocked

For a small shop it has a huge array of vegan foods including cheese and meat substitutes and chocolate. A lifesaver in a not very vegan friendly town.
