Unspectacular risotto - expensive - Edit
If I had eaten the risotto in a KüFa, I would have found it solid. At this price and with the presentation of top cuisine - well.

Food is good - Edit
Not much choice, but it taste good. We had the gnocchi and the risotto.
Read moreIf you're eating here, you're probably also staying here. Breakfast is included with the room.
Breakfast buffet which include plant-based soy yoghurts (Alpro) and plant-based milk. Toast, jam, fruit. Also cereals, but I haven't checked if those are vegan.

Vegan food in a beautiful setting - Edit
Beautiful setting in Glencoe and lovely dining room.
Read moreSeparate vegan menu was available upon request with several appealing options!
Service was on and off. Individual interactions were great, but execution between servers, kitchen, and table fell short. I’m particular, one person’s main dish came out very very late and communication about the issue was not good.
We ordered the tomato soup, the mushroom risotto and the veggie burger (beetroot quinoa) from the vegan menu.
The bread was good, not great. Tomato soup had more like the consistency and acidity of tomato sauce—fortunately, I liked this! The quinoa burger was good, but maybe not great. The texture was too soft.
The star was the risotto, which tasted somehow cheesy and creamy despite being vegan. I don’t even like mushrooms and I liked this dish!
Pros: Gorgeous setting, Vegan menu, Risotto
Cons: Other dishes were just good, Service was hit/miss

Surprisingly delicious lunch! - Edit
We stopped in for lunch and weren’t expecting much — but the vegan lunch option, a lentil and squash Wellington with horseradish mash & braised cabbage, was so delicious! With a beer and the amazing views right outside, this was a real highlight of the drive! Very small menu for lunch, so YMMV, but we were very impressed — high quality, very tasty, excellent all around!

Better than the reviews - Edit
We had to eat there, because we stayed there while hiking the West Highland Way. Reading the reviews, we did not really look forward to the dinner. But it was way better than expected. There were several vegan options, and we chose a vegan curry and a vegetable Wellington for our mains. The curry was very good and came with a nice flatbread. The star was the Wellington, which was the best meal we had during our West Highland Way trip. It was filled with delicious lentils and served on a bed of red cabbage, which was very nice. The mashed potatoes were also very good, the only time we saw a restaurant offering a vegan version during our trip. It was a pity though that they only offered a sorbet for desserts.

Stunning Location + Vegan Menu - Edit
At the moment they’re operating on one menu (bar menu) due to COVID/limited staff, but usually offer two based on their bar/ restaurant. What they lack in options on their main menu they make up for with taste- the summery salad I had on our first night was fab (good for veggies- contained burrata), and on the second night of our stay I was offered a separate vegan menu with an option of a couple starters, mains and desserts. The waiter said the menu would be subject to change.
Read moreTheir breakfast (for residents) offers vegan sausages and haggis on their hot options so you can enjoy a full veggie breakfast, and plenty of granolas, fruits and other continental to set you up for the day.
The location is absolutely stunning. If you can get a seat in the restaurant it overlooks Glen Etvie and is incredible.

Good pub - Edit
I've estopped at the kingshiuse on a few occasions over the year. It's very imited and i've always tended to take a packed lunch.I've only ever been to the bar, which is an enjoyable bar but found the food to be stodge.
Read moreIt's the only place for several miles, it's limited and will do if needed. It's on the West Highland Way and is a good stopver.
Pros: location
Cons: lack of thought about what a hiker might want
