Friendly, good food, wonderful views - Edit
We sat on this terrace for hours. The tagine was great, there were nice drinks, but the view here is the real draw.

I don't recommend - Edit
We ordered the aubergine tagin without the bechamel (then they brought it with the bechamel so we asked them to fix it and they did it) and the vegetable tagine. Both came with rice, tahini, bread and salad. Food was excessively spicy for my liking.
Read moreMy negative review for this place is not because of the food itself, but because of the environment. Unfortunately, like many other places in Egypt, people are allowed to smoke in. I couldn't finish the meal because there was so much smoke around us that made the experience unpleasant. I ate fast enough, paid the bill and ran away as soon as possible to get rid of the smell of smoke.
Cons: People are allowed to smoke in this restaurant

Touristic restaurant with vegetarian options - Edit
Nice views, service was rather unenthusiastic (because of Ramadan?) but not unpleasant. We had a vegetable tagine (feeds two) including rice, tahini, bread and salad. Nothing special in terms of taste for this price but keeping in mind that it‘s a tourist spot with view on the nile it was ok.

My favorite in Aswan - Edit
There are two restaurants near the north port of Elephantine Island: King Jamaica and Nubian Dreams. You can eat vegetable tagine at both of them. The tagine at King Jamaica is mainly soup, and it is delicious when you eat it with rice in the tagine. The tagine at Nubian Dreams has large pieces of vegetables, which are nicely browned and have a nice aroma, so it is filling. Both restaurants offer nice view of the Nile, and both are my favorite in Aswan. You can drink fresh juice at both restaurants. Nubian Dreams has beer, but King Jamaica does not have any alcohol.
