I enjoyed the Cosmo Knots, Doom Bloom. The Ceasar Palace salad was wonderful. The crab cakes were OK, and the Kefta were these two quite salty little things (they were better the day after). Overall pretty good.

Fancy Vegan Bar Spot - Edit
Popped in here to check it out after hearing about it and was pleasantly surprised by the fancy decor, airy vibes, pleasant staff, delicious drinks, and delightful food. Had some of the best seitan I've ever had in my life and was even served my receipt in a choose your own adventure book. Definitely recommend checking this out when you're in South Park.

Fun drinks, great food - Edit
I like the drinks better here than Mothership as rum-based drinks are not my favorite. Food is fantastic- jackfruit sandwich was excellent. Carbonara was scary good - spicy tasty without the leaden heaviness of the original that I remember from many years ago.

Unique Upscale Vegan Restaurant/Bar - Edit
- [ ] Fast, friendly service! Ambience was great! Nicely appointed, great fun familiar rock music playing in the background that just made you feel good.
Read more- [ ] Camino Muerto: we ordered one of this specialty drink on the recommendation from the mixologist/bar tender. A slightly Smokey Mezcal Toquilla, slightly briney drink. This drink was delicious and very balanced. We had to order another.
- [ ] Cosmo knots: These were yummy. Crispy, buttery, pastry knots served with a smear of garlic aioli and marinara. Would definitely order again.
- [ ] Doom Bloom: Deep fried mixed mushrooms (I think trumpet, shitake, and something like Bunashimeji) Very tasty with the dip they provide. Lightly breaded and fried just enough to be crispy on the outside and firm chewy on the inside. Another instant favorite for us.
- [ ] Chimichuri Skewer: house made seitan kind of surprises. The texture was softer than I expected but the texture was complemented by the thick Chimichuri and harrisa styles sauces on top.
- [ ] Grilled cheese: Great crunch, nice cheesy flavor. We had it without the optional patty just to experience it in its purest form. The flavor was awesome and the bit of béchamel that they use on the inside keeps the sandwich creamy even while it cools. I am sure the patty version would be great too!
- [ ] French onion soup: served in a special purpose bowl with the classic melted burnt cheese layer on top. A savory soup thick with onions and sour dough chunks. Yum! My wife and I crave this dish but it is rare to find.
- [ ] Egg roll burger: a sort deconstructed eggroll crispy/crunchy egg roll wrapper deep fried layered in to the burger with a pile of egg roll ingredients layered on top with all that sandwiched by a sesame seed bun. This was an amazing experience. Will definitely order this again. A new favorite we didn’t even know existed.
- [ ] As you can probably tell, we had a LOT of leftovers to take home to savor the next day.
- [ ] From the staff, we had Nick(mixologist), Raya(server), and Dee(expressor). Thanks Kindred and team for doing what you do! You made our 40th anniversary day trip to San Diego memorable.

Kindred had SO many different amazing vegan apps and entrees. The egg burger in particular was really good. Also it was not too expensive. The ambiance and art in the restaurant gave it a hip and hopping vibe. I would definitely recommend for anyone in San Diego to check out!

Didn’t live up to the hype. Started off strong with the cosmo knots being delicious. The chimichurri skewers had great sauce but the seitan was pretty plain. The mind melt didn’t have much of any flavor and BBQ jackfruit sandwich has flavor but felt like it was missing something, just not very exciting. Oh also wanted to mention it took over an hour to get our food and we had a 5:15pm reservation which is right after they open.

Everything in the restaurant was unique-from the menu to the bill being presented in a cool book. Wife had the warlock which was very scrumptious. My son and I had the pancakes which had whip cream, bananas, and a few other things making it very unique. Absolutely loved it and would go back for sure!

The Caesar salad is good, his biscuit/gravy was decent though wouldn't get again, double cheeseburger was still great and the pancake (our first time getting it) was SO GOOD!!! It was fluffy and had so many diff textures. The creamy whipped cream, the caramelized banana slices and the crunchy cashews/coconut flakes mmmmm. The best pancake i've had honestly.

This place had a really cool edgy/moody vibe and interior. The cocktails were great. I regret not ordering the egg roll burger - my friend got it and it was amazing. I got potato app which was good and came with a good creamy dip, and 2 different types of skewers. I really liked one (right side of my pic) and really disliked the other (left side of my pic).

Our entrees were so good, we were all exchanging bites and savoring everything. We were not hungry enough for dessert this time, but on our last visit we split an exquisite slice of cheesecake.
I cannot emphasize how much I live Kindred, I wish there was one closer to where I lived so I could visit more frequently.

Absolute Vibe - Edit
The atmosphere here is incredible and the food was amazing. The theme of the restaurant is incredibly well executed from the decor down to the menus. They also provided my twelve person party a fantastic table and great service with no prior notice, with heaters for night outdoor seating. Will absolutely come here again whenever I'm in the area.
