Truly a godsend - Edit
We in Berks often feel like we are punished by our location and don't get nice things (except for Chen, Firefly, and Greenhouse). No Wegmans, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe's will ever come here. "Demographics!" they say. Well, the small upscale chain Kimberton felt we had the demographics, and West Reading really needed a grocery store. And the county needed a larger health food shopping experience. It felt like a new day when this opened, seriously.
Read morePrices are no higher than Giant, the current grocery king, and as you know, ALL things are ridiculously expensive in this time of inflation and wages that just don't keep up even as they eke slightly higher. This store uses a former outlet building, has close convenient parking always (and of course a ramp), and the nicest staff ever, so much so that I am surprised all the time. Going shopping is a treat, and I normally hate it.
Don't miss the grab and go area for amazing potato salad, vegan salad dressings, and much more. Bring your own containers to fill -- they will weigh them at the front for you and encourage this. Do not miss their holiday meals. They have family style portions and also complete meals. The store is just the right size to have everything we need while not being overwhelming or exhausting, and of course there is plenty of organic and more ethical food. The house brand is very good too.
I hope they will add to the seating area in the front and create calmer lighting, so it would be a place to relax with coffee and such. I am sure the small outdoor space will be wonderful once it is warmer out.

Pros: Beautiful aesthetic space in restored building, sweetest staff, perfect size
Cons: All food is expensive; we can't expect dirt cheap

Absolutely LOVE KWF - Edit
Since its open a little over a month ago, I’ve been at this grocer several times. The location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the friendliness of the staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ literally everything is amazing about the new KWF. It is the largest one I’ve been to so far, and it is so pretty with the natural light shining in as you’re shopping 💛 I typically find grocery shopping to be a drag but I enjoy doing so at KWF, and now that I have one closer to me it’s love. I was even able to find a unicorn product, allowing me to have “mozzarella” sticks for the first time in YEARS. Grateful to have a spot where my food needs are met ☺️
