Best vegan option in Western Tokyo

This place has a fantastic atmosphere created by their super friendly staff, which makes it well worth the journey despite the inconvenient location for most people.

The vegan options are all delicious, including amazing desserts, and the big bonus is their rotating seasonal vegan option, basically some variation of ramen/noodle soup which is always superb.

Pros: Several vegan options, Great rotating seasonal menu, Lovely staff

Cons: Slightly inconvenient location

Anti-mask conspiracy theory cult

Irresponsible and dangerous to the society.
They have been employing this absurd anti-mask policy since the start of Covid. Staffs are obviously prohibited from wearing masks during work. I have personally witnessed them hosting several no-mask parties/gatherings during the peak of COVID-19.
Who knows how many people got sick from their delusions.

Being vegan/vegetarian should be more than only eating fruits and vegetables. We are all responsible for the well-being of others.

LOVE IT!

I must say, I have never had a cafe experience like this before... Loved the staff! They were so attentive and happy and I loved seeing their beautiful smiles. Such an awesome and welcoming place, and it was packed full when I went during lunch time. Clientele was so versatile from babies to really old grandpas. - I have never gone to a cafe where the other customers say hi to you when you enter, smile and are genuinely happy to see you there. It was such a happy experience. Never experienced this before, so that alone makes me want to come back asap. A weird, but a happy experience.

I was overwhelmed by the menu - there is so much to pick from! Although this is not a vegan cafe, there were so many vegan choices both from drink, lunch/dinner and dessert menus. I had the vegan curry rice and it was so delicious. It is topped with homamade vegan mayo and the soy meat was kinda spicy, but everything was very tasty. Did not get the chance to try their dessert, but I will try it next time if I get the chance to get back.

Cafe not in a central place, but I was in the neighbourhood and was so happy to come. They have a stage, so they might have music nights too.

Pros: Big menu with lots of vegan options, Happy, smiling staff

Cons: Not super central

Anti-mask cult ruins otherwise good food

Dangerous cult that happens to have good food and great desserts (on the rare occasion when they aren't totally out). No staff wears a mask, they put covid propaganda on the table, and they have a "family planning" center down the street that's connected to their religion. They've never tried to convert me, but the lack of masks is outrageous. I'm done.

Pros: Great desserts

Cons: Psychos, Often closed for events and out of vegan dessert

Danger to Community

The restaurant is vehemently anti-mask and they have “proof” all over their restaurant which has been cherry-picked to “prove” that masks do not work. They do not respect public health whatsoever.

Pros: Good food and vegan options

Cons: Do not wear masks, Danger to community

The food itself is good, but...

The owner is anti-mask and a conspiracy theorist. They doubled down on their anti-mask actions (not allowing employees to wear masks) by making a print out on all the tables with falsified info saying that COVID isn't real, masks don't work, etc.

Very unfortunate as the food itself was delicious. Also when I went, not only were staff not wearing masks, but they were ALL up in my face. Like, getting CLOSE. Ick.

Pros: Food tastes good

Cons: Anti-mask, Putting people in danger & doubling down

Go at your own risk

They have several (a few) vegan options. The owner believes conspiracy theories and none of the staff wear masks, so you might not feel very comfortable. His blog shows he’s also a Trump supporter and anti BLM, etc.

Cons: Right wing owner , No masks

AMAZING

One of my all time favorite places to get ramen. I come here as often as I can even though it is an hour drive from where I live. Completely worth the drive to get the soy milk ramen!

Vegan ramen

When here for dinner. Amazing staff, and English on the menu. At KBC about half the menu is vegan including desserts! The vegan ramen (1200¥ but big serving) was recommended, I had the seasonal version in winter. It is made with soy milk and is so so creamy and hearty with slices of potato, eggplant and carrot, and greens to mix in. The ultimate comfort food! I think the veggies change according to what's available and the plain menu is more traditional Japanese flavours (sesame and nori). They also have a vegan curry which smelled amazing. It's a casual vibe with music playing and live music on Sunday afternoons.

Pros: Great value, staff, and vibe. Omni options avail.

Delicious muffin and cookies

Unfortunately, when I went at Kick Back Cafe the cafe was closed due to a special party. However, when someone from the staff saw me and my disappointed face, she went out to apologize and tell me that in an hour and a half the cafe would open again. I could not wait so I asked if it was possible to take out some vegan cookie or cake... she said yes and just told me what they had in stock, and brought me the mango coconut muffin and chocolate cookies I had just ordered - and both were delicious!

Pros: A few vegan cakes and cookies available, Delicious coconut mango muffin, Very friendly staff

Best vegetarian cafe hands down

Last weekend, I had a chance to go to this restaurant, which is 10 minutes walk from Segawa station. The cafe was exceptional, not only because every meal we enjoyed had a variety of options and was flavourful but also because the prices were so reasonable. The food that they serve suitable not just for vegetarian but for Muslims as well. One of the best in their menu a signature dish – Soy Milk Ramen, is to die for! The service was excellent too. The cafe provide a prayer space, so fret not, you can eat to your heart’s content without having to rush to a mosque!. You can even book the entire space for any occasion. So if you are organizing a gathering for some awesome food, I highly recommend trying this place out! You’ll be impressed. Will definitely be back.

Kick Back Cafe!

Amazing soy ramem ever!

I strongly recommend everyone to try this soy ramen, called m amera(まめらー).

It only takes 30mins from Shinjuku station!

They have so many choices such as curry, dumplings, sandwiches, and sweets!

Plus they have limited menu on each mouths,so you can also try it.

Great restaurant

My boyfriend and I visit this place often. They have a large menu as well as seasonal specials. Vegetarian/vegan items are clearly marked however it should be noted that Kick Back Cafe is a veg-friendly restaurant but not only vegetarian. Portions are ample. Especially recommended is the soy milk tan-tan men (ramen). They often have live music events on Sunday nights.

Pros: good value, event space, tasty food
