Best Thai food ever! - Edit
We loved the food at Khu Khu! We ordered the Just Feed Me menu and each dish was delicious. So much flavour and variety and all presented beautifully too. It's the best Thai meal I've ever had and definitely my favourite restaurant in Auckland. It's also in quite a cool and interesting area. Lovely staff and decor.

Delicious, hearty Thai food. Lots of great options - recommend the duck drunken noodles and the chicken chicken sweet and sour 😋 it is a little pricey but the portions are very filling.

$19.90 lunch special - Edit
Very happy to take up their weekday $19.90 lunch special. I had the black pepper tofu rice. Nice big portion - probably too much carrot and celery for my taste but still very good.

Best drunken noodles ever! - Edit
I would move here just so I could eat the duck drunken noodles everyday. They were sooo flavorful and had lots of "duck" pieces in it. The staff is also super friendly. I am mapping out the rest of my meals in Auckland so that I can try as many things as possible before I leave.

Good all vegan place! - Edit
Always exciting to go to an all vegan place. We got the yum gai zap chicken and the night market noodles with duck. The chicken was a funky texture even for vegan chicken and the duck was definitely just mushroom, but the flavors were still really great.

Fresh and tasty - Edit
We visited Khu Khu CBD in March 2025. We ordered the crispy satay tofu to share to start then the beef up massaman curry and the duck drunken noodles. Everything was fresh and tasty and the portions were generous. We also tried the peanut butter and jelly sago as we were curious about it and that was nice too (and a bit different). The server was lovely and overall we felt it was a decent value, good experience.

Expected it to be better :( - Edit
After reading many 5 star reviews on Happy Cow, I expected to love this place. Unfortunately I thought that it was overpriced and alright. My partner and I ordered the double crispy satay tofu, night market noodles, and beef up massaman curry. The flavor of the night market noodles was better than the massaman curry, and I liked that it had more vegetables (though it was a bit oily for me). Unfortunately the “beef” in the curry didn’t have the best texture and that there was a lack of vegetables in the dish. Typically curry comes with rice, but this one did not. This was disappointing, because there were only about 4 - 5 chunks of potato, and without many other vegetables and no rice, the dish was not filling even though they described it on the menu as “a hearty” curry.

While the menu doesn't offer a great number of dishes, there is a good variety of types of dishes. The lunch and happy hour menu have options not on the dinner menu.
Read moreService was quick and helpful.
I ordered the Pad Prik Gang Tofu with rice and my partner (omnivore) ordered the Night Market Noodles. Both were well seasoned and the veg was fresh and not overcooked. Portions were ample for us.
Highly recommend - wish we were in Auckland longer so we could try more dishes here!

Best Thai ❤️ - Edit
Great flavors, textures, and completely delicious food. We had the drunken noodles, cashew 'chicken', and some spring rolls... everything was great and they have a lunch/early bird special menu with several options for a reduced price of $19. Friendly service, good location, nice environment. Good non alcohol beverage options.

Enjoyable food - Edit
Polite, cheerful waitress who asked if I’d like a recommdation which I chose. Went with the main of green currry (mild) & side dish of purple rice. Spice level suited, serving size was ideal for me but maybe small for others & food was fresh and tasty.

Amazing dessert, OK dishes - Edit
We had the duck drunken noodles, money bags, and the tiger duck. Everything tasted OK, but seemed to miss an ingredient or a finishing touch, definitely not worth the price. The drink was OK as well, but better than the dishes. The desert, however, truly surprised me: pandan sago with jackfruit pieces, jelly, and peanut-cookie dough ice cream. Superb! So if we ever do return, it's just for the desserts really.
