Good and Basic - Edit
While their falafels are a good whack more expensive than equivalent (if not vegan) Coburg joints, good mock-meat fix with hot chilli and garlic sauces (extra salad and tabbouleh a must). The baklawa is nothing to write home about; savoury options are good.

It was okay - Edit
Honestly, it was just okay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The kebabs were big for a kebab and the HSP was tasty too. I wasn't a fan of the meat they used though. It was just kind of cut into blocks and fried, I just didn't vibe with that chunky mouthfeel. If it were minced up and fried I would have enjoyed it more. Probably wouldn't get it with cheese in future either.
Read moreThe falafel kebabs without cheese, add some extras and a couple sauces to add flavour would be my go to next time.
There were a few sweets behind the counter that satisfied my sweetness craving after the meal but again there's definitely better doughnuts elsewhere in the CBD. Sweets were pretty cheap though & was a nice way to top off dinner.
My favourite part about this little eatery was the staff.
Pros: Vegan, Good selection, Moderate price tag
Cons: Chunky meat not fried well

klean kebab - Edit
I don’t really believe in “clean” eating or whatever. What I mean is, this isn’t your late night vegan spinning meat on a stick. In fact, Kevabs closes at the early hour of 8pm and instead of dirty, greasy kebabs, they serve lovely, fresh, plant based Turkish food.
Read moreMy favourite is the kevab with cheese, BBQ sauce, and chilli. The “meat” is really tender and has a great, rich flavour. They’re served with salad and pickles on fresh pita. It’s the perfect, tasty, fast food option in Brunswick when Lord of the Fries feels just a bit too heavy.
I’ve also tried and enjoyed the salad plate. All of the salads were delicious, varied, and filling. The spicy potato borek was tasty too with crispy, flaky pasty.
Speaking of pastry, Kevabs has the best vegan baklava I’ve tasted as well as other Middle Eastern sweets.
I rate them way above the famous Vöner vegan kebab in Berlin.
Pros: baklava, tender kevab “meat” , salads
Cons: cash only

Got a couple of kebabs with garlic sauce and cheese (all vegan). We’ll definitely eat here when we’re down this way again.

Delicious baklava - Edit
Nice friendly place. Not a large variety - a few salads, their homemade vegan protein patty, and some desserts. The salads were nice. One of the things I miss being vegan is baklava.. they had multiple varieties! I kept with the traditional pistachio and it melted in my mouth - delicious.

Read moreA bit underwhelmed with everything we ordered today (kevab, chips, and baklava). I really don't enjoy the kevab filling but I'm sure it will appeal to others.
July 2019
The salad plate (large) is good value for $10; you can choose up to three salads from their quite extensive range. I would recommend one with greens as the flavours can be quite intense. The kevab with extra salad as an option, proved more substantial than the first time. The dessert chips sounded interesting; maybe next time :). The cardamom coffee was a nice way to finish the meal.
Very happy to see they are no longer serving anything on disposable plates/cups.
March 2019
The kevab is tasty, it needs just a touch more salad to satisfy. The potato and pumpkin filled borek was also quite good. I found the HSP a little rich but I’m sure others will enjoy. This eatery has only been open for a week, but has plenty of potential, I just hope they will ditch the takeaway packaging for dine-in.

Really good Kebab shop in a convenient location. The food is so good, it's tempting to over order every time. Great range of salads, as well as kebabs and HSPs. Everything is fresh and clean and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend!

Awesome - Edit
Best gozleme ever! If I lived in Melbourne I would be down here all the time to get my hands on one of these. The potato onion borek tasted great but the pastry went soggy after being microwaved (and therefore didn't really remind me of borek). My omni chef husband said the Oreo baklava was fantastic. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious - Edit
Greeted with such a warm welcome and encouraged to sample 3 salads in our group as sharing platter. Picking our three favourite from a selection available was tricky as they all looked so good. The three we picked were all delicious but favourite was the pumpkin and glazed walnuts. We tried the kevab - spicy and tasty, you can pick your own source so if spice isnt for you theres other options - alongide the kevab we had HSP chips and kevab meat - amazing.
Read moreDesserts - turquish delight and bakkarva were the perfect accompaniment.
We were a group of vegetarians and meat eaters and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The place to go for vegan kebabs - Edit
Delicious wholesome food with the star being the house made kevab meat ... yum yum yum! I’ve missed a kebab since going vegan a few years back. This for me is better. Everything we had was on point, salads were a real surprise. We finished the plate of salad and immediately thought of ordering another plate! That’s a good sign. They have other sides such as boreks, chips and desserts. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Worth 6 stars.

Great selection of freshly made food - Edit
We enjoyed our kevab, salad, gozleme and borek. There’s an abundance of options to choose from with healthy salad type options and less healthy options (eg. chips as part of an HSP). It’s fabulous to have an all vegan Turkish cafe. I particularly enjoyed the borek. I think I prefer felafel to the kevab meat, but I’m sure plenty of people would have a different opinion to me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The venue is light filled, with some seating indoors (though not all that much so I imagine it might be tricky to get a seat at times).

mouth-watering kebabs - Edit
The first thing we noticed was the friendly welcome we received when we walked into Kevabs, so the vibe was positive right from the start. We ordered two Kevabs with extras (jalapenos, vegan cheese and garlic sauce) but I really wanted to order EVERYTHING as my eyes surveyed the salads and boreks and desserts on display. It all looked fresh and inviting. The kevabs were delicious and perfectly toasted. Everything was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return for more Kevabs. We are looking forward to trying their baklava with a Turkish coffee.
