Excellent Vegan fare - Edit
I have gone to this restaurant multiple times now and I try to visit every time I am in Ireland. I find it very difficult to get good vegan food in Irish restaurants because they are usually exclusively Vegan or not vegan friendly at all. Kennedy's has found the perfect balance. I can eat out with non-vegan friends and have a delicious experience and so can they. The chickpea is the key ingredient for them and there's a lot of hummus or falafel mixed with sourdough. I think I have tried all of the vegan options and found none of them wanting.
Read moreThe Falafel Wrap is delicious and very filling, as is the Buddha Bowl which is a large salad bowl with seeds and veg. The Vegan is available every day of the week and mixes smashed pea & chickpea with vegan pesto and raw vegetables. Other options can be made vegan on demand with swapped ingredients like avocado for halloumi, etc. If you have the space for a side, the mushrooms are to die for.
They make a very nice oat cappuccino and there are no alternative milk charges here.
All round, if you can handle chickpeas and you are dining out with non-vegan friends, this could be a great option. I recommend sitting upstairs where they display the works of local artists that are for sale. The atmosphere is convivial and it is usually quiet enough for conversation (no competing with loud music). Afterward, a walk along the coast makes for a great natural digestif.
