Best high tea - Edit
Have visited Kaylee’s many times and always love the abundant options and tasty meals. The high tea deserves a special mention though, good enough to compete with any non vegan option. Visually spectacular and a great special occasion option. Keep a look out for when they host them as it is not a fixed part of their menu.

It’s a vegan cafe/restaurant/comics; how an interesting blend of concept! I was only there to try their dessert and matcha latte! But they didn’t have matcha that day so I had a chai almond latte instead. The Exotic Pavlova is very unique & creative, with a blend of lemony custard with coconut whipped cream and vanilla ice cream! Sweetness overload. Oh wow I had a sugar rush then sugar crash too! 🫠 Also, after a vegan meal and desserts, you have a huge hypermarket filling with new & old & contemporary comical characters to explore! What a place!! Family, furry friends, young & old, all are welcome here! 🤩

Had asked SA Vegan Society on FB what vegan places I should try while in Joburg and many said to visit Kaylee’s. I am so glad that I did! Again excited and overwhelmed by the extensive all vegan menu but as a bit chilly, decided to order the winter warmer: truffle toastie with tomato soup. That truly hit the spot! So yummy! I enjoyed it with peach rooibos iced tea. It was very filling but managed to make room for dessert. They had a three layer carrot cake which was so delicious. Loved the beautiful yet relaxed atmosphere and found the servers most attentive and friendly. What a wonderful eatery! Would love to have a place like this back home!

We ordered the Korean style burger and BBQ rib burger and they were quite nice. They came with a side of fries. Portions were quite large, so there wasn't enough room left for dessert, but we did buy cookies to go.

Information out of date - Edit
This place doesn't update their info. We made a special trip and they were closed. Happycow, Google and even their own Facebook page's hours said they were open. Might pay to ring them or something before you waste your time.

Had very few Vegan restaurants around so was happy to find Kaylee's. Enjoyed the food and had a chance to speak to the owner who was super cool. Took a non-vegan friend their and he loved it too. Looking forward to another visit next time I'm in Joburg.
