Great pancakes - Edit
Went here for breakfast. Had pancakes with fruit and maple syrup. Nice to have an alternative to a savoury vegan breakfast.

Decent food, not enough of it - Edit
I went for breakfast and enjoyed my pancakes but was still pretty hungry after. The pancakes themselves were a lovely texture and I enjoyed the fruit compote and pistachios they came with but 3 small pancakes is a bit of a stingy breakfast. My parents had the miso tomatoes on toast with extra mushrooms. They enjoyed the flavour of the tomatoes but if they hadn't added the tomatoes it would also have been a tiny meal. I think the best thing about the breakfast was the fresh juices they do. I'd recommend this place if you're in the area and want to eat out for breakfast but I'd make sure you have some toast at home first.

Classic veggie/vegan place with dedicated staff - Edit
It was only when we went in here recently for lunch that I realised I'd been here before! The food, as then, was delicious, but the menu changes regularly and is therefore kept uptodate and fresh.
Read moreThis time I had the sweet potato and corn fritter wrap, which was delicious and massive, and very reasonably priced at £7.00. It came with yummy polenta chips too. Whilst I was ordering, the chef heard me say the word 'vegan' and called me over to try some new 'honey' that he had created - yummy and indistinguishable from the real thing, in my view. Throughout the meal, the chef continued to give me bits of information about how he had made various dishes which, as an avid home chef, I was very interested in! I must say, he struck up conversations with me as I was clearly interested, and probably doesn't do this with all customers. It added something extra to the meal.
My partner (who is veggie) went for the only thing on the menu which contained dairy, a cheese pie, and was very satisfied and impressed with this.
They have an excellent range of hot and cold drinks, beer and desserts...we were just too stuffed to try one this time!
Pros: Awesome staff (especially the chef), Great relaxed atmosphere, Great range of delicious food

Vegan + GF Friendly! - Edit
I popped in for lunch on a cold, rainy day and it was lovely • The sweet potato corn fritters were a nice, warming treat & the coffee was terrific!
Read moreStaff were very friendly & sweet, but could/should be more knowledgeable about items offered, as I'd inquired about specific allergens a number of times & still wound up with cake that I found out far too late was •full• of nuts (this is why I've given fewer stars in my rating).
Vegan & gluten-free options were available, which was great, but they didn't seem to have anything nut-free • for anyone without allergies, though, they certainly offer a nice variety!
Pros: Vegan + gluten-free options , Cozy atmosphere , Great coffee
Cons: Couldn't find a nut-free dessert option

Comfortable café with vegan options - Edit
Café serving quality coffee, including decaf (“99% caffeine-free, using a non-chemical process”) - I had the French-press style. It is nicely presented on a silver tray with a small snack. I also enjoyed the vegan Soba Noodles meal, £6.00. There are cakes, cookies, brownies – some items being vegan. They also serve wines and beers, including those from local vegan brewery, Little Valley, plus a gluten-free beer and an Italian lager.

Amazing Little Gem - Edit
This is a fantastic little cafe worth the trip to Todmorden for this alone.
Read moreI first visited here a few months ago, for a coffee, which was perfect, and stayed there for nearly an hour and a half, chatting with Sveta one of the owners and other customers. New visitors get treated the same as the regulars and you soon feel like you have been going there for months. Returning later in the day for a late lunch.
The food is excellent, you do need to be a little patient as most of the dishes are cooked to order by Dale (in the tiniest of kitchens) & there is always a good selection of Vegan options. Unfortunately most of the cakes are not Vegan, but, they do have an Avocado & Chocolate pudding that is so chocolatey rich and fantastic.
I am about to move to the area & the prospect of having the Kava Cafe as my local cafe was one of the deciding factors.
Great relaxing place, with good music, good food, perfect coffee & lovely owners, Sveta & Dale, on hand to ensure your visit becomes the first of many.
Pros: Great Atmosphere, , Excellent Coffee., Tasty and varied menu.
