Lovely Vegan restaurant with rescue cats❤️🩹🐈⬛ - Edit
Absolutely amazing concept, some of the cats approached to want to cuddle which provided a wonderful experience for me🌱♥️ Restaurant served delicious food with some of the dishes having a small cat paw of spice on the plate. Really recommend this experience, cats who wanted peace and quiet could trap door to another room. Had a tap where you could wash your hands before eating. Food a bit pricey 13-15 Euro, but that’s the only con (except if you’re allergic to cats), overall provided a lovely experience.

Cats are THANKFULLY ALLOWED FREE WILL - Edit
Thankfully, the 5 cats on my visit were given the freedom of choice to hang out in the restaurant or relax in the peace of the patron-free back room. 4 were napping in full view above me despite the full house. Yes, I would’ve loved a cuddle, but cats are nocturnal and imagine living 24/7 in a busy restaurant where every set of hands desperately wants to handle you given the opportunity. Yes, a few more cats would reduce the pressure on each cat but only if council allows that and it doesn’t cause chaos in the cat group. If you don’t support zoos because the animals are forced to go on display, then think carefully about why you would complain about them not being made available at anyone’s convenience.

A bit busy cafe offering a place to hide from the tourists in the center. Unfortunately, we were unpleasantly surprised that there is only one cat in the entire cafe (or we did not see any other). On the day of our visit, there was only one person serving, so you may have to wait for your order, but the staff was very nice and tried to deliver everything as quickly as possible.

Hi marii, at the time of your visit, we had just opened, the cats just "moved in" a few weeks ago from a truly troublesome situation. Our five rescued cats have found a new home and become very relaxed and curious, hanging out in the guest room most of the time. You're welcome to come again and you will see the big difference.

love the concept but a bit underwhelming - Edit
Love love love a fully vegan cafe with rescue cats!! There were only two cats in the cafe while we were there and both of them were asleep, but of course I’m glad they got to mind their own business. We felt quite nauseous after eating the vegan cakes though, but that tends to happen for me and my mum with very processed and oil based food. They tasted really good though!!

The food is solid, all vegan. We like the homemade drinks. Burgers and sandwich’s are tasty. Salad and French fries portion is smaller than in other katzentempels.

Also, if you have the Katzentempel-app you can collect points with the receipt and cash them in for items from their menu.

I appreciate that their coffee is organic and fair trade. And my burger was really good, but at 15 to 17€ per burger salad this place is really pricey for what you get. You'd get equally good burgers if not better in dozens of other burger restaurants in Berlin. I understand that you don't just go here to eat, but also for the cats of course. So you gotta pay extra for that experience. I was really looking forward to interacting with a cat or two when I came here. No big expectations I think. But not a single cat came up to me during the 2 hours I spent at this place, meaning there were zero interactions and not even enough cats around to watch. I really don't mean to sound entitled here. The cats can and should do whatever they want. They aren't entertainment robots. All I'm saying is this wasn't worth it for me.
Read moreOn top of that my friends order got messed up, we had to wait several minutes to receive cutlery after we got the food and my friend also spent about 10 minutes in the little entrance room before a waitress finally let her in.
The cats had plenty of room to roam which i like and they also had constant access to a room where they can hide away from the humans

Have been to other Katzentempel/Cat Temple places, the one in Berlin has cozy size, wonderful glas cupola, friendly staff - and amazing cats and animal-free food! Located in centre of Berlin (Berlin Mitte) just next to Unter den Linden and not far from Brandenburger Tor

We went to this place especially. We were greeted with coldness and antipathy. After waiting for a place to be vacated inside, they let in a family that arrived 10 minutes after us. Extremely poor service and attitude. We will not be returning to this place. Too bad... We love cats.

Bei dem Konzept, dem Personal und dem Essen kann man nur 5 Sterne geben! Super tolle Auswahl an herzhaften und süßen Speisen, von Burger bis Bowls bis Sandwiches alles dabei, genauso Kuchen, Eis etc.! Wir hatten die Rainbow Bowl und zum Abschluss den ApplePie und das Tiramiezu, Apfelkuchen war wirklich eine 10/10, selten so einen guten gegessen, Tiramisu war sehr lecker aber leider weit entfernt von dem, was ich als Tiramisu kenne, dennoch eine 8/10! Personal war super super freundlich, sehr aufmerksam, auch die Katzen waren einfach toll, schön anzusehen für jeden Tierliebhaber und alle Tiere sind aus dem Tierschutz und somit gerettet! Unfassbar toller Vibe da drin, klare Empfehlung!

You can see the kittens playing around! They offer several tasty nutritious options and desserts. The personnel is very kind and provided a prompted service during the 2 times I visited the place. 100% recommended.

We visited Katzentempel and ordered a purrchetta to share, which tasted great. However, we discovered that this place is part of a “chain,” which isn’t usually our preference as we prefer to support small, local businesses.

While we want to emphasize that the cat was treated with respect and we didn’t feel that the staff mistreated the animals in any way (we are sure that they absolutely love them!), the concept itself just didn’t fully resonate with us.
