Expensive, friendly, staff speaks neither german nor english - Edit
One minute from Brandenburg Gate 🏛️ Fifty seats outside, fifty seats inside 🪑 You can pick n mix your salad/bowl 🥗 Quality is really good, no fake salads but good ingredients. Staff is very friendly but speaks hardly any German or English. Be very, very, very clear if you need a receipt, it is close to impossible to receive it 🧾

Tasty, but too much sauce - Edit
We had two tasty bowls (Tuna Teriyaki and Vegan Pastrami). Pricing was rather expensive for a fast food restaurant, but it was very tasty and the staff was friendly. As a tourist, you have a direct view of the Brandenburger Tor.

We tried this restaurant from the chain near the Brandenburg Gate. Everything was tasty, with plenty of different options to choose from. It wouldn’t make our Berlin Top list, but everything was good and we had a nice experience.

The food was delicious and big portions. Ordered via the QR code but there is nowhere to put your table number, so the waiting staff come out and just look around hoping for the best. We saw lots of food and drinks going back to the bar and waiting because of it. A simple fix would be to simply update the website to enable a table number to be put in.

I’d never heard of Kaspar Schmauser before, although it seems to be a small chain with locations in several German cities. This Berlin branch is still relatively new, which was noticeable in a few areas but overall, I had a very positive experience.
Read moreThe restaurant is spacious, bright, and modern, with plenty of seating indoors as well as a large outdoor terrace with umbrellas. It’s a lovely place to sit, especially in summer, and the location near Brandenburger Tor makes it perfect for people-watching while enjoying lunch.
Ordering is possible either by scanning a QR code at the table or via self-service kiosks near the entrance. Unfortunately, the QR code didn’t work during our visit because the website kept crashing, so we used the kiosks instead, which worked without any issues.
The menu offers a wide variety of healthy dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world. You can either build your own bowl or choose one of the signature combinations and customize it with different dressings. There are also cakes, pastries, and a good selection of drinks, although the baked goods looked more commercially produced than homemade.
One small design flaw became apparent during our visit. The tables were arranged in three rows, making it surprisingly difficult to reach the tables furthest from the aisle once the restaurant filled up. Both guests and staff had to squeeze past occupied tables, which seemed inconvenient for everyone. The team handled it well and remained friendly throughout, but it’s something that could easily be improved.
Despite being busy, our food arrived very quickly. The portions were generous, filling, and made with fresh ingredients. Everything tasted light, healthy, and refreshing exactly the kind of meal I enjoy on a warm summer day.
I ordered the Thai Bowl with the Peanut Lime Dressing, which is marked as the recommended pairing, and I completely agree it complemented the bowl perfectly. My companion chose the Pasta Bowl with the recommended Chipotle Dressing, which was also very good.
We ordered the menu option, which includes a drink and offers better value than ordering everything separately. I had the Strawberry Lemon Lemonade, which was a little sweeter than I personally prefer, while the Minty Like Iced Tea was wonderfully refreshing and not overly sweet.
Overall, Kaspar Schmauser is a great addition to Berlin’s healthy food scene. There are still a few minor things to improve, but I’d happily come back to try more of the menu.

I know the chain and I like the selection of food here, I find the meals well-balanced. Here one can stop and enjoy cozy environment and enjoy a meal even in the very touristic part of Berlin. I believe in the high standard of service they offer.
