(At least) two mistakes on their allergen list

For years, possibly decades, the single Indian restaurant that Bilbao could, ahem, boast was the mediocre Ghandi (sic). As time passed, they had to compete with the likes of India Town, Namaste, India Old, Himalaya Curry and Tandoori, Indian Punjab.. and eventually called it quits. It is in these circumstances, with a city more acquainted with Indian food, but not spoiled for choice either, that Kartar emerges.
Their daily menu is very fairly priced, as for 13.50 euro you get a starter, main course, rice or bread (go for the former or you won't get full) as well as dessert (no vegan options), coffee, a drink..
I liked both the starters and the curry, while I found the bread to be a bit dry. However, it was quite surprising that one of the naan breads wasn't marked with the "dairy" allergen, when in fact it did also contain the secretion, said staff. Instead I was given roti. More importantly, the vegetable curry was supposed to be vegan too, which I emphasised when ordering, but the first thing that stood out was a piece of.. tofu? No, of course it was paneer. Staff apologised and another curry was delivered, but it seems like one really must stress the importance of everything being fully vegan.
I didn't feel quite full but not ripped-off either, haha. I might visit Kartar again at some point in the future.

Good indian food, not labelled

Staff knows about veganism and is very willing to accomodate vegans. Food is good and rather cheap compared to average local prices. No vegan label on dishes so you have to ask the staff.
