Lots decent of options

So many great options listed as being vegan. Felt confident we didn’t need to explain what vegan meant which is always good!
They wouldn’t serve us food until 12 noon as we weren’t staying at the resort. So we had to wait until lunch to get food.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: They couldn’t serve food until 12 noon.

Highly recommend!

Perfect setting on the beach, we had an evening meal whilst listening to the waves crashing and the lovely music played by restaurant. SO much variety and all the taste. We loved it here! Swings in trees on the beach too

Good food

A nice quieter spot on the island. Good menu, staff are super friendly however my boyfriend and I came back for dinner one evening and we are both lactose intolerant, my boyfriend asked for the normal pasta just no cheese, which they said they cannot do. I asked for my poke bowl for no beetroot which they said they also couldn’t do. The evening I had the vegan burger, the fries came out with parmesan on - which wasn’t vegan as later I had stomach cramps all evening😒I would say the menu is good and maybe some days things just go wrong but if you are aware you don’t like something in a dish, they cannot change that and my vegan dish turned out to be not very vegan!

Delicious Vegan Options

Quite a few vegan options aswell as veggie ones which are also vegan (or easily made vegan) but not described.

Nice vibe aswell by the beach. Staff were lovely even if the owner can be a little ‘direct’ so take nothing away from this place. Its lovely & will be back one day

Vegan options where I did not expect them :)

I was quite surprised to find vegan food on the menu - even more options :)
I took the Vegan Indo Burger and must say it was really good!

Very offensive owner.

Very bad experience with the owner of this restaurant.

Long story short: I originally ordered a vegetarian jackfruit taco, but they mistakenly served me a chicken taco instead. Mistakes happen. I politely got up and approached the waiter to confirm if it was actually a vegetarian dish since everyone at my table tasted meat in it.

The restaurant owner, an expat, promptly came over to personally check with the kitchen, which initially seemed professional.

Within a minute, she came to my table and admitted the mistake, offering to clean the plate and get me a new taco. I declined, explaining that I felt a bit nauseous now that I’ve eaten meat and decided not to eat anything but that it was fine.
She must have felt offended or overprotective for the staff and responded something like “Come on DUDE, It’s Indonesia, mistakes happen. It’s only a piece of chicken, it’s not gonna kill you” in a very condescendant manner.

I’ve travelled in the Sunda Islands for months and I never had this kind of remarks or discussion with a restaurant owner. She truly lacks of empathy which is one of the principle of Indonesian culture.
I love Indonesia, but expats like this really discredit the Indonesians that work hard on making you feel welcomed.

To be honest, that was a sincere mistake, it happens: jackfruit and chicken do look and taste alike.
I don’t blame AT ALL the Indonesian staff. They were amazing and even came to apologize after the incident with their boss. I made it clear to them that I didn't hold them responsible and genuinely appreciated their apology. The bill reflected this with a 10% discount, and the cost of the taco was removed, which I found acceptable. However, I cannot excuse the owner's attitude.

The other customers nearby came to us and pointed the fact that the owner was way out of line and that it was very not empathetic.

For the record, the restaurant brand itself as vegan/vegetarian friendly with a dedicated menu and a huge vegan sign by the terrace.

Tips to the owner, feel humbled to have the chance to work in paradise and share the Indonesian kindness you must have grown, with your customers. All we felt towards you was business opportunism.

This review is posted on various platforms to provide a broader audience with the experience.

Lovely location, delicious food!

Went to Karma Kayak last night and it was magical! Sat in the beach dining area under trees and fairy lights watching the sunset. Staff were very lovely and had lots of vegan options to choose from. Will definitely be back again during our stay to try more of the options! We had Korean tofu bites, Nadi goreng and wasabi tofu skewers!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Beautiful location on the beach, Friendly service

Very good!

So many good vegan options on the menu, everything else can be veganized.
They also serve non dairy milk for coffee, even it’s not on the menu. Just ask😄
The owner is a very nice woman, who greeted us personally.

Lots of vegan options, no flavour

Good to see quite a few vegan options, order all the vegan options, they all just tasted like bread or was dry. So no flavour. Super greatful to fill the belly and have a nice sunset veiw just need to learn how to add some flavour. FYI is riding here you will encounter sand pat hes of around 100m - 200m where youll need to walk with the bike.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: No flavour.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate you've taken the time to write us up.

We do have vegan and vegetarian dishes based on jackfruit, tempeh and fake meat also. And some non-vegetarian dishes can be made vegan or vegetarian upon request.

Next time, please talk to our waiting staff or the manager, and we will see what we can do for you!
