i am soooo glad that karelyn's has a location now! i had been trying to get them for a long time and it did not work out for me very well. but since dharma's left, karelyn's vegan has taken over the spot and i couldn't be happier!
Read morethe food is delicious. i've never eaten fried food that is so wholesome and doesn't leave me feeling heavy before, but karelyn's does it. unfortunately for me, a large portion of the menu is unavailable to me due to a nut allergy; however, i've had my fair share of oyster mushroom wings and bbq sandwiches.
karelyn's is definitely a household treat for us because i struggle to afford the prices, but when i'm able to eat there it's always worth it and the food is always consistently great when i'm there!
if you haven't tried karelyn's, you're definitely missing out.
Pros: delicious and natural food, friendly atmosphere, open late

I went to Karelyn’s a few weeks ago (and gave them PLENTY of time to email me back) and had some of the worst food I’ve ever been served (I’ve been there once before and it wasn’t bad).
Read moreThe two people working there were super young and I’m not sure if they were the owners or if they would care, and it’s also so uncomfortable to tell a small business you think the food you’ve been given is awful. I was wondering if you knew the owner and wanted to pass along some feedback or if you wanted to help me figure out how to pose this question to the Facebook page without being attacked for being too uncomfortable to confront the workers.

The Mac and cheese was edible but it was so bland I didn’t want to waste the calories, the kale salad was drenched in flavorless dressing, and the cornbread was hard as a rock and also flavorless. The chicken tenders were fresh/crispy but they have such an odd texture to their home made meat that after 2 it was turning my stomach, so that’s on me. Idk, the whole experience was so underwhelming and disappointing.
I emailed the owners an incredibly nice and understanding email about my terrible experience and was ignored, so I’m finally ready to share my terrible experience here.

ordered the strawberry shortcake for $8 after debating on spending so much, was really disappointed and kicked myself for spending the money, the cake didn't seem fresh at all, the strawberry was definitely not fresh, the slices were like wilting, and there were so FEW strawberry slices, probably half a strawberry worth. I only got to eat less than 1/4 the slice with a strawberry mixed in, and the cake wasnt good/fresh enough to eat on its own, for an $8 dessert it was pretty disappointing, ive ordered the $4 piece of cornbread before which also didn't seem fresh (maybe would have been better if it came heated, but it was cold and dry) and I didn't finish that either. Mac and cheese was pretty good, but pricey food for the quality, (wouldn't mind the prices if the quality was better..to a point I could at least finish the food). Milkshakes are good

Was really good food and they are open beyond 7pm! I had chicken sandwich and wife had Philly cheese steak! Both were very good. $46 for two sandwiches a bit spendy though.

The oyster mushroom fried "chicken" was extremely good! The Philly cheesesteak was amazing. Everything else, I could have left. The mac and cheese was bland. The cornbread was dry and crumbly. And the price is hard to reason with. Flavorless and dry food should not be an issue at $25-28 dollars a plate. Don't think I'd return here any time soon.

Chikn and waffles were great! Everything else not so much. Mac and cheese was oddly sweet, waffle fries were soggy and not very flavorful, kale salad was not very tasty either (not a fan of the stems left inside & kale not massaged) everything is a bit overpriced as well. I spent a total of $87.77 for whats pictured. (Mac n cheese, cornbread, & fries are shown at half portion) I do not believe this was worth the price. However I would get the chikn and waffles again!

We had Lions Mane with cornbread, Mac, salad. Pearl Oyster with pickles and seasoned fries . The seasoning was on point. There were a wide range of sauces for the fried mushrooms. Due to size and shape I had a little bit of trouble biting through the lions mane. The Mac was lovely.

We had the wings and burnt ends, both as meals. I loved the flavor of both, everything tasted fresh and really enjoyed both meals. Service was fast as well. My only complaint is the price. The meals were $25 each plus $7 each for two lemonades. They both tasted amazing but expensive for the quantity of food. Almost $80 for dinner for two with two lemonades.
Read moreThe wings come with the sauce on the side by default. They charge an extra $2.50 for them to coat the wings in the sauce. This feels very nickel and diming when you're already paying $25 for a plate.

My best friend and I just came back from Karelyn's Soul Vegan Cafe at 5565 Old Cheney Hwy in Orlando Florida. Yes, it's open. I had the Philly steak sandwich and my best friend had the chicken sandwich. Both are very good. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is great. They were playing beautiful 🎵 🎶 Caribbean music 🎵🎶 (maybe a little bit too loud 🔊📢 😁), but I am sure they would lower the volume if we had asked. They have seating inside and outside. They will also open a big and beautiful garden with seating someday soon.

Best option at a vegan street “party” - Edit
Chose Karelyn’s after checking out ALL of the other vendors at the vegan street “ party”. They had the only whole food option which was “fried Chicken” made from oyster mushrooms. The banana pudding was good not too sweet!

Originally when I ordered from this vendor at a vegan event, the oyster mushrooms tasted like burned grease. I refused to order from them since until last night. They were at the Vegan Street Party and I ordered the Karelyn dinner which included fried oyster mushrooms, Mac and cheese, cornbread and kale salad.
Read moreI loved that oyster mushrooms as always as they were covered in habanero sauce. The Mac and cheese needs work and it was cold. The cornbread was fine and I didn’t bother eating the kale salad because kale isn’t supposed to be eaten raw. It should be cooked only but many think it can be used for salads.
They should replace the kale/spinach salad with a watercress and arugula salad instead. The Mac n cheese needs work. They need to make cheese from cashew nuts and use soy free vegan cheese to add. Minor adjustments can make this dinner better.
Pros: Oyster mushrooms didn’t taste like burnt grease
Cons: Kale and spinach should not be eaten raw, MAC n cheese was cold

Tried them at the Gainesville Vegan Street Party! The staff is very nice and funny and I was excited to try the vegan crispy chickn sandwich. The sandwich tastes amazing and was a 10/10 for both me and my non-vegan dad. The vegan Mac & cheese was okay. Nothing too special. Even though the overall meal tasted great, the price…definitely costly. It would be a nice treat once and awhile but definitely nothing I could have often cause of the price.

these vegan options are GOOD. the drumsticks are complete with a little literal stick! so cute. the burgers are $25 to give you an idea of how much you will be paying. i love supporting vegan businesses but when everything is over $20 pretty much it makes it a little more infeasible when there are other options in the $10-$15 range.
Read moreEDIT- business reached out to me and asked me to adjust what i said about pricing so the latest information is $19 for a sandwich w a side and the combo meal is $24. they have other items too but that pricing was not clarified. with tip and taxes, this is still going to be in the $20s for a meal so my original review is not being removed. in my opinion this is a lot of money for food but the quality is very good. it’s just not always feasible to spend $25 for a meal after tip/taxes.

Also ordered the OG Chick’n and it had great flavor but I thought it was too much, I’ll definitely give their Chick’n another try in another form like their Fried Wingz next time I catch them at an event!

My first time trying them was at a vegfest. I made sure I got there early enough so wouldn't be in long lines and glad I didn't because it's only 2 of them. I got the philly cheese steak, fries and banana pudding and it came to 31.00. 10.00 each I guess, the philly and the banana pudding was delicious, the fries were just ok. I haven't had authentic tasting banana pudding since going vegan so was totally worth it. I'd try them again.

One of my favorite restaurants in Orlando! Don't be fooled by the fact that it is located in a gas station because the food is always delicious and fresh. They have a variety of comfort foods including Mac&cheeze, burgers&loaded fries and amazing desserts. Don't forget to the try the lemonades! This is a small family owned place and in my opinion those are the best places to eat. The food is always made with lots of love and flavor. You will not regret trying this place and will probably keep coming back like me😄

Do not get confused about the gas station lol, it’s in the back to the left! Amazing service and food, unfortunately there was no mac and cheese but the sandwich was absolutely delicious and the fries were the perfect texture! Definitely visiting a earlier to not miss out on the mac and other sides!
