tasty and cheap - Edit
Awesome place: fully vegetarian, good taste and friendly staff. Don't go for the decor, it's in a garage without windows or air con. Returned 3 times already :)

cheap, good and nice - Edit
Nice lovely food freshly prepared on the spot for you.
Dishes are extremely cheap, everything cost around $1.5 per main dish
Locals go there and some tourist also. The son speak very good English and is always happy to help.
The place is very basic and doesn’t look like a restaurant but if you don’t mind that then go and have some lovely food!
The chicken drumsticks are really nice! And vegan!

Nice place - Edit
The local isn't too beautiful (like every Cambodian restaurant) but the food is good, clean and cheap. Many options of veg dishes.
Pros: All
Cons: None

Fantastic and cheap - Edit
A lovely, simple restaurant with cheap, mock meat dishes. Their dumpling soup and mock chicken drumstick with rice is particularly beautiful. My favourite place in Siem Reap.
Pros: Cheap, Yummy, Simple

Not quite sure.... - Edit
We dined there the other day as the reviews seemed supportive. It is quite basic, and definitely one for the locals. We ordered a noodle-based meal to share. Something didn't seem right about it, but we persevered, not quite finishing the meal. Later, one of us became ill. There may have been no connection with the food, but we suspect there might have been. It clearly advertises itself as vegetarian, but we're not sure that's entirely true.
Pros: Very cheap prices
Cons: See above...

Good place for eating - Edit
Nice and cheap local veg restaurant. Not a fancy tourists oriented place. If you want to try local food it's a right place. Owners are friendly and speak English, English menue. It's open all the time by the only exception of late night.

very cheap Khmer style food - Edit
Kang Le Restaurant is a family run Cambodian style cafe ... the food is cooked after you order from the menu (which includes English names for the dishes) ... while food portions are Cambodian style (small) they are so cheap you can order additional food if you are still hungry ... limited English spoken by the adults however the son of the owner learns English at school ... I had a tasted vegetarian chicken and steamed rice (US$1.50)

Bare floor and really basic restaurant with the usual plastic chairs and table condiments. However, the food is piping hot and delicious!
Pros: Very cheap. Owner understands "no egg".

Amazing food! - Edit
Me and my girlfriend visited Siem Reap during Khmer New Year so unfortunately we only managed to go to Kang Le once. The food was soo good and probably the cheapest (for vegans ) in Siem Reap. Although not every meal is vegan there are a lot of options available. When you are not sure just ask for ingredients e.g. egg, milk etc.
The atmosphere is typical for local restaurants simple and nearly everything made out of plastic.
Pros: Cheap, delicious , local atmosphere
Cons: plastic furniture

Kang Le Restaurant, Siem Reap - Edit
This is an inexpensive locally managed vegetarian place of around 20 dishes on the menu. It's very centred on rice, noodles and mock meat. There's writing there in Chinese as well as English so possibly under Chinese / Khmer management. Vegans should always ask what is suitable (use the Vegan passport).
A cheap place to go if you are near Wat Damnak. Otherwise I respectfully don't feel it's worth making a trip for with so much egg and mock meat. A greater proportion and wider choice of vegetables in the menu would be better rather than so much rice, noodles, mock meat and egg.

RedAl 07 Mar 2017 - Hi Stevie, looking at the first sentence of your review, perhaps 'inexpensive' was meant? Beyond that, I'm largely in agreement!

Basic but cheap - Edit
This is the kind of no frills, very cheap veg restaurant that I haven't found much of in Cambodia, and for that reason I was pleased to discover a place where you could order an ok main for between one dollar and one dollar fifty.
A good place for those on a budget or those wishing to escape the bright neon of Siem Reap's pub street.
Pros: cheap, English menu
Cons: average food

Stevie 07 Mar 2017 - Hi Al,
Thanks for pointing out the typo in my review. It's now fixed.
Did you find this place easy enough? When I submitted the listing there didn't seem to be a street name. Hence I suggested finding it based on a GPS map marker. Please let me know if any of that info was sub-standard.
Thanks for all your help.
Keep well, Stevie
