Amazing vegan Chinese food and Hot Pot - Edit
Kamala vegan is definitely one of the best vegan Chinese spots in Berlin. A lot of new Chinese restaurants (fully vegan or vegan options) have opened in Berlin in the past few years, but Kamala stands above a lot because of their large/diverse menu, great execution and the ability to get a high quality vegan Hot Pot. The staff is great and just about everything on the menu is excellent. Another vegan gem in Friedrichshain.

All vegan - Edit
Spacious restaurant with a wide selection of dishes, including some unusual ones. Choose from fake meat and fish as well as vegetable or soy options. I chose the Szechuan style lotus root dish. It was very tasty, but I couldn’t eat all the chilli and spring onions. Portions of generous. Rice is included. Would have liked some fresh green side dishes to choose from.

A Peaceful atmosphere - Edit
A lovely place with a very peaceful vibe. I almost felt I was back in a Tibetan restaurant in Dharamshala with the beautiful buddha images all over. The food was very good and there are plenty of choices, including some amazing teas. The place is also very clean. I would recommend it.

Went there for two times and had a nice lunch twice.

The jasmin tea was super yummy and I enjoyed a lot the cucumber salat as a starter.
The vegan duck tasted good. The sauce beside was a bit bland in my opinion.
Wanna come back and try more of the exciting stuff from the menu!

Best food I've had in Berlin so far - Edit
Very good food. We got vegan pork belly and black pepper soy bits, as well as cucumber salad and dumplings. It was all very tasty. Also a good selection of teas. Very nice place roo. Only downside was that it's a bit pricy, but definitely worth it.

100% Chinese Vegan Cuisine... Is this real?... - Edit
Yeah it's insane
Read moreWe had several dishes "tapas style", kinda overwhelmed with the options 😅. Can recommend the kimchi and the cucumber salad a lot!
Also the vegan pork Bell was very nice, the vegan shrimps didn't convince me too much though, it's also a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion imo
But the kimchi!!!!!!

Delicious - Edit
We had the 12€ lunch menu which was very delicious, including a black tea. I was a bit disappointed that card payments were only possible at 25€, with 2*12=24 you are just one € away 👀

5/5 perfect - Edit
Amazing food, flavours, sauces! Great selection of tasty fake meat (beef, pork belly, duck, chicken,...). You can order small portions which is enough for a single person, or you can order large dishes for sharing with others. The staff is very knowledgeable on the tea so we had a nice chat about that!

Greasy and expensive aka „Chinapfanne Deluxe“ - Edit
I really wanted to like this place. Having an alternative to all the vegan Vietnamese places would be great. And there should be at least one vegan version of every world cuisine there is in Berlin. But unfortunately this wasn’t a change my tastebuds enjoyed. We had no-pork belly with cauliflower, fried noodles with tofu and no-beef with bell peppers. The noodles where swimming in oil , the pork belly probably is just sth I don’t need to be recreated , the beef dish was good - but this variation of Chinese cuisine just was missing a nuanced flavor profile. If you ever had a 3,50€ “Chinapfanne” out of those white 70s trailers somewhere in Hohenschönhausen - well that’s exactly what you get here for 15€. No not exactly, much greasier unfortunately. They offer two sizes to be fair , a large dish being around 18€. There are of course many more dishes to check out and they seem to be very distinct from each other, meaning there might be sth we would enjoy more. But we won’t give it another try,

what a pity you got something that dissapointed you :(. I got the lotus root dish and i was amazed because that flavor was really new to me and the sauce and spices exciting. I was a bit affraid of ending up with bad diggestion because it was spicy but it didnt😄I think their cooking is authentic and clean. 🤗 If you ever go back try that lotus one :)
