Yummy - Edit
My first meal here was just okay but the other two I had were fantastic. I also loved all of the desserts and how they were displayed. The employees were so nice and gave us a rundown of their restaurant and their sister restaurant just a few stores down.

Decent, but just too pricey - Edit
The burger worked and was quite alright. The desserts, however, can really be a hit-or-miss, and with those prices they’d better hit it out the park every single time.

Cons: Too pricey , Hit-or-miss lottery, Not too great on the desserts

Expensive - Edit
almost 10 dollars for a slice of cake is WILD. and it wasn't good. the icing was too hard. i just separated it from the cake and didn't eat it. the cake itself was dense. seriously whole foods has a few vegan cakes that are actually good and cost 5 or 6 dollars for a slice. i also believe i've had some type of fries and vegan chicken fingers meal from this place and it was bland. again you can just buy some vegan chicken fingers (there are many brands) from the grocery store and fries , drop them in hot grease for a few minutes and that's it. easy. it will taste better and cost a fraction. i'm trying not to be too harsh because i want to support vegan restaurants/bakeries. but we seriously need some more AFFORDABLE and good quality vegan options.

Excellent meal - Edit
I got there right as it opened for the day and was greeted by others who were already waiting. They were clearly fans of the place and were more than happy to talk about what they'd recommend trying. I came here wanting breakfast but they were out of pancakes and didn't serve one of the other breakfast options any more. I ended up trying the Brushfire sandwich and it was very tasty. I got a dessert to go (an enormous vegan version of a Little Debbie cupcake) which was a perfect dessert after dinner.

Fantastic vegan comfort food - Edit
I got delivery two nights last week -- both were delicious. The first was the plain "chicken" sandwich. It was fabulous and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. The second order was their breakfast plate: the "eggs" were a creamy tofu -- more like grits -- but nicely flavored, and excellent with bites of the fake bacon they included; the tater tots were as good as their fries; and the pancakes were fantastic. Both meals were HUGE portions.

Tasty and all vegan - Edit
Went as a group. Most people very happy with their all vegan meals- crispy chicken, filet o fish, fries- lots of sauces to choose from to jazz up your meal. Killer cupcakes, cookies, cake - omg could come here for just those alone. Son didn’t like his burger and cheesecake did not satisfy, but was happy with fries and his dessert (ok maybe not a high bar, but they were really good). Salad as my side was probably the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff, very helpful. Seating sparse but not many there so no wait for us. Closed at 8pm on a Friday night - take that for what you will. I would return.

Meh - Edit
Sadly disappointed because I wanted so badly to love this place, and the menu no doubt looks amazing!! Had the Kal Gyro-Hero and the Bad Adz Baykin Clucker and it was just mediocre. Not a picky vegan eater…and if I’m being honest I don’t think I’ll return. Hoping that Sam and Gertie’s is better 🤞

Look no further if you're craving vegan comfort food. I had a nice lunch with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals. The sandwiches are great. Appreciated the side salad to balance things out. See attached photos.

SO GOOD - Edit
My fiancé and I passed by this place on the way to Sam & Gerties and knew it was a must try. We both got one of the chik’n sandwich options and they were excellent. Perfectly crispy without being too greasy, yummy toppings, soft bun. The fries were on point as well. For diner type food, it wasn’t too greasy or salty, which I liked. We tried the ice cream after though and it was just okay. It seemed a bit watery and lacked flavor. We didn’t even finish it between the two of us. Other than the ice cream though, everything was absolutely amazing and we would definitely be back.

Get the fried chicken waffles! - Edit
And oxidative stress dream. Not all healthy but, on occasion, definitely worth the sugar. The pancakes are amazing, and they have a few gluten free dessert and meal options.

Good, a bit heavy - Edit
Overall the food tasted good but was a little dense. Better than other vegan places, but not particularly outstanding. Definitely some kind of a “fast food” vibe just because the food was a little heavy, definitely not eating “clean”.
Read moreThe vegan gyro was awesome. Much like a regular gyro, they really overdo it with the (fake) meat and underdo it with the toppings, but overall it was delicious.
Good fries — regular fries and sweet potato are an option.
The chicken nuggets were pretty good too. Nothing compared to those small businesses that just do fried chicken really well, but totally sufficient for a vegan place with a wider menu.
Wouldn’t do it again for a regular dinner meal, but would as drunk food or indulge-yourself/eat-heavily food.

I just tried the cookie dough cupcake and chai snickerdoodle. I thought both could use a little more flavor but I loved the texture of both. I would come back for sure and try more as well as the food menu.

Yummy brunch - Edit
Drove an hour from suburbs for vegan brunch. Didn't disappoint! Omni husband & mom also enjoyed everything. We all shared a blueberry hand pie for an 'appetizer' and all loved it. Not too sweet and powerful (real!) blueberry flavor. Everything was cooked well and super tasty - the Just eggs, hash cake, potatoes, toast, pancakes. Friendly staff too!

What a fun filled Vegan surprise - Edit
Visited Kal'ish on Saturday, September 21, 2019, after an afternoon at Black Ensemble for a play. Having never visited Kal'ish (or heard of it) decided to give it a try and all I can say is "WOW" what a delightful surprise. I ordered the Quesadilla and I cannot begin to explain what it did to my palate, it was so good and they give you plenty of food you will definitely be full long before you finish your entree. Service was excellent and the waitress came over during our meal to check and see if we were satisfied with our meal and we were.

Cons: Parking for the restaurant.
