Vegan Options at Koloa Bar - Edit
Now that any restaurant can include a Beyond (or Impossible) Burger on its menu easily, I am more impressed when they raise the bar and include at least one other vegan entree. Kalapaki Joe's does just that by making Beyond meat tacos.
Read moreAlthough I did not try the tacos, I enjoyed two servings of edamame appetizers which were quite flavorful. A hint of sesame seasoning and salt combined very well with the wasabi teriyaki dipping sauce. I also ordered the salad which was disappointingly generic. What ever you do, don't order the balsamic vinaigrette dressing which tasted worse than if it were from a bottle, which I assume it was.
This bar/pub does not offer any type of dessert, vegan or non-vegan.

Pros: More than one vegan option, Large cocktail drinks during happy hour, Good edamame
Cons: Garden salad too generic, Service could have been a bit more friendly

Small portion, big price - Edit
My boyfriend and I both got the hippie tacos. Priced at $18 each we expected to get a full burger but it seemed we got a burger split between our two plates. The food itself was mediocre. If you really need an option, they have the hippie tacos and a burger, but it’s nothing special. We got a far superior vegan burrito for less money at Red Hot Mama’s up in Princeville. Our omni friends also got tacos (not vegan tacos) and drinks, and agreed it was overpriced for very mediocre food.

Great Beyond Burger - Edit
The vegan option they had was delicious. Beyond burger with sweet potato fries. I’m giving a 4 stars cause it was only one option available and because the bread wasn’t vegan so I had it wrapped in lettuce. I also didn’t have the teriyaki sauce cause it isn’t vegan. They had vegan swiss cheese. It was pretty good but it costed me the same without the buns. With the buns would be a complete burger experience so that’s why I can’t give the 5 stars. It was around $15 with it’s not so cheap but also not a bad price for the area. I’d go eat there again because the restaurant vibe is great, the staff super friendly and it was quick to get a table for two. We went on a monday night around 7:30 and left at 8:30. Quick, delicious and reasonable.
