Rather disappointing

We chose this restaurant because of the good review here and the ones shown by google, but we did not have such a good experience.

The vegetarian section of the menu shows six dishes, but only three of them are vegan: Chop suey tofu, tofu with mushrooms, and holochai, which is glass noodles with mushrooms, bamboo and soya bean sprouts. The other dishes are not vegan according to the allergens given, including the red curry, which includes cow‘s milk. We found that really disappointing and unnecessary.
There is one vegan starter, the soya sprouts salad, and we asked for the spring rolls to be veganized. Both tasted well. As our main dishes we had the chop suey tofu and the tofu with mushrooms, but both were totally lacking in flavour. The sauces tasted of nothing, the tofu was dry, the mushrooms were bland and the veggies totally overcooked. I really cannot say anything more positive.

Moreover, the service was quite unfriendly.

There is also a very sad aquarium in the restaurant.

Pros: The spring rolls were quite good, Central location

Cons: Bland and overcooked food, Cow’s milk in curry (why?), Unfriendly service, Cash only, Sad aquarium

Better than we thought for a small tourist town

We had the red curry and fried rice, both with tofu. Though the taste was not as authentic as we are used to, the portions were large, and each meal had an entire block of tofu in it, which was deep fried very well. We also asked them to veganize the spring rolls and they made them fresh for us. Delicious, highly recommend the starter! Only complaint is that the prices were high, but that is normal for a touristy town.

Pros: Don’t skimp on the tofu , Cozy atmosphere , Very friendly staff

Cons: Vegan menu very small compared to other sections, Pricey , Taste not what were are used to
