Beautiful and peaceful place - Edit
We didn't eat anything there but the centre is definitely worth a visit and walk around. So peaceful and lots of birds. Will definitely visit again when passing.

Peaceful oasis and lovely food - Edit
Samye Ling Monastery is open to all whether you are staying for a course or just passing by.
Read moreThe Tibetan tea rooms ( in a separate building in the grounds) is open for teas coffees cakes and light snacks. All food is Vegetarian ( mostly Lacto-ovo, but some dishes are Vegan) as the Kagyu Buddhist tradition encourages the abstaining of meat, fish etc. It's manned by volunteers and they do a great job serving tasty food and barista coffee.
If you're there for the day you can pay a small fee ( around £10.00 for 3 meals in the Monastery dining room but best to book this in advance.
Accomodation is available too- even if you don't want to partake in any courses or ceremonies.
Pros: Friendly staff, Peaceful atmosphere to re charge your batteries, Good Vegeatrian Food
Cons: Can be busy if there's several courses on one time, A fair way from large towns/Cities
