Serves meat, vegan options available. Cozy restaurant and bar serving traditional Korean bbq, coffee, and cocktails. Vegan choices may include sundubu, bibimbap, veggie ramen, mushroom ramen, tofu bulgogi, avocado toast, tofu veggie burrito, chili tofu. The menu in general is confusing, but the staff is helpful in finding out what the vegan offerings are. Can also customize dishes. Open Tue-Sat 8:00am-9:00pm, Sun 8:00am-6:00pm. Closed Mon.

Many vegan options! - Edit
Many vegan options and clear labeling on menu. We had to check that the veggie dumplings were vegan, and server said they were.

Best Vegan Korean option in Grand Rapids - Edit
In a town where it is difficult to find vegan Korean cuisine, Kaffeine Place is a hidden gem for Korean plant-based food in GR.
Read moreKaffeine Place offers a large breadth of vegan options from their cafe selection as well as their traditional Korean selection. The only problem is the difficulty in deciphering the menu. It is difficult to find a consistent menu across their online presence, and it is not much better on their in-person menus. I have found that the best option is really talking to the server and preparing your vegan meal from there; however, I know this turns off some people who want to fully prepare their meal in their mind beforehand. I was fortunate enough to have the owner take my order. She was very knowledgeable about their vegan options, and she knew how to customize dishes to make them vegan (many Korean dishes start out vegan before adding meat/egg).
Despite the slight complication in Kaffeine Place trying to figure out its identity -- is it a French cafe or a Korean traditional eatery? Well, it's both. And what exactly is the menu? Well, it's a bit all over. Kaffeinie Place rewards those who take the time to enjoy it. It is a great option for a casual lunch with friends, and it has Korean vegan options that are tasty yet still feel like they stay true to the traditional cuisine without straying too far.
In my visit, I had the vegan tofu sundubu that came with a side of rice and radish kimchi. It was a warm embrace on a cold winter day. I went with the spicy option, but I could have gone spicier. The side of radish kimchi was a welcome surprise that was bright and palate cleansing.
I recommend Kaffeine Place as an up-and-coming veggie option for the Grand Rapids community. Check it out!
Pros: Many Vegan options, Friendly service
Cons: Confusing menu design, Not entirely vegan
