Fresh, thoughtfully planned and carefully prepared dishes - Edit
I had the cucumber salad, courgette curry and rice. You could taste the recipes were created with great care and thought, and beautifully prepared using fresh ingredients. It really felt like a chef created and prepared meal, full of taste and flavour and freshness. Good value for money considering the quality. Highly recommended.

Soo good - Edit
The recommendation was to order 2-3 plates per person. We were 4 vegans so we just ordered all the vegan options except the nuts, and double corn ribs and rice. I feel like it’s one of those restaurants that you don’t really get a sense of what you’re plate is gonna look like / taste like until it’s there, but it’s definitely worth it. My favorite was probably the mushroom or the cabbage. I do suggest getting rice if you order either of the curry.

My favourite restaurant in Glasgow - Edit
I just adore Ka Pao and recommend to everyone.
Read moreSweetcorn ribs, oyster mushrooms, hispi cabbage and the curries are always my go-to’s! They often switch a few bits up according to seasonal produce.
It’s excellent - 5* if I could but it serves meat and fish so not an option on this app.
Pros: Excellent, inventive vegan options , Really good quality food , Fairly priced

Lovely but loud - Edit
We went to the Edinburgh Ka Pao, midweek to celebrate hubby's birthday, he'd been before with his works Xmas night out so he wanted to go again.
Read moreThe food is really nice, not a lot of choice for vegans, but what there is is worth it and everything is clearly labelled on the menu.
Dishes are quite small, so for the 2 of us, we ordered 5 different dishes to share.
The Pardon Peppers were lovely, as we're the vegan corn ribs. Both are really tasty and moreish.
The highlight was the Szechuan oyster mushrooms! 🤤 Sooooo good!
The Hispi cabbage was lush, however I found the choo chee curry courgette a little bland. All very fresh and well prepared.
We defo recommend a visit!
Nice restaurant/decor/layout, etc, although it I found it uncomfortably loud. The venue has high ceilings and the music was a bit too loud, thus customers are all talking quite loudly over each other. It doesn't make for a relaxing atmosphere.
Maybe it's just me getting old? My hearing isn't the best when it comes to background noise, so for us, it was a bit unpleasant as we couldn't chat much between as i can't hear too well in those kinda situations. It did kinda sully our evening a little. However, that alone wouldn't put me off going again.

Delicious but needs more fake meaty stuff! - Edit
Flavours here are incredible! Would enjoy some tofu dishes, but equally the fried oyster mushroom was AMAZING, so meaty and flavourful! Mango soft serve for pudding was also so refreshing and tasty.

A celebration of vegetables - Edit
Delicious vegan options, no tofu or meat alternatives but the oyster mushroom small plate was similar to vegan fried chicken.

Ka POW! - Edit
Not a great deal of vegan options however the ones they have are fantastic! Not quite good enough to visit again unless they expanded into more proteiny and tofu options.

Amazing and super fresh! - Edit
I have been to Ka Pao in Glasgow so many times and it has never disappointed. There are lots of vegan options and the friendly staff are very well drilled in this respect. The food is consistently delicious and fresh, packing a real punch, and the place has a great buzz. Stylish decor and immaculately clean. I could eat here every week!

Great food!! - Edit
We had the lunch menu which for 17.50 you get a great selection: starter/side, main, salad and rice... all really delicious and clearly labelled what is vegan.. didn't feel like a sub par option at all opting for the vegan items. Will be back!

Very tasty but lacking protein. - Edit
Ka Pao is a small dish/tapas place that has options for almost every diet and many vegan options too.
Read moreBecause of the style of food it can be a little expensive, especially as they recommend a few dishes per person. The cocktails are also great, which adds to the price too!
They focus on seasonal ingredients so there's some variety in the menu. However, while we found the food delicious, it wasn't very filling as there's little protein in the vegan options.
Pros: Lots of options, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Expensive, Veg based

Outstanding flavours - totally unique! - Edit
I have never tasted anything quite like the food I had here - the flavours absolutely sing in your mouth! I had the Vegan Corn Ribs and the Salt and Szechuan Pepper Mushrooms, both recommended to me and understandably so.
Read moreThe ambience in the restaurant is lovely, and the service was exceptional. My server couldn't have been more accommodating. We had a great chat and before I left he wrote me a little list of other places nearby with great vegan options. Superb!
Pros: Incredibly tasty, Uses vegetables rather than processed alternatives, Fantastic service
Cons: Not entirely vegan or vegetarian
