Rude staff - Edit

Came here for Food, found no menus so asked. The member of staff said he wasn't sure if they served food so I was to ask the chef, stood next to him. So I had to ask again to which his response was 'ahhh hmmm maybe in seven days. Come back then'. My friend ate there the day before no bother so I don't understand what happened.
I can't saw anything on the food but I wouldn't bother with this place unless you aren't really hungry and fancy a walk somewhere incase the staff cant be bothered.

Best vegan cafe! - Edit

This cafe is a little hideaway - inside Juuls Reggae Bar in St Julian's. Bit hard to find but its worth it. I've eaten there everyday for the past week as they have a great menu!! Mostly vegan with a couple of vegetarian options. Gluten-free options also available. Relaxed vibe and nice view. The service is a little slow but everything is made fresh so worth the wait!

Pros: Food - variety of wholesome items, Price is good

Cons: slow service

More bar than restaurant - Edit

I think "kitchen" might set up the wrong expectation. As other reviewers have noted, this place is really a bar first and foremost, but I came expecting a restaurant experience and was a bit disappointed.

During my evening visit, it was surprisingly hard to get food. Upon entering, I was ignored by three different employees, despite trying to get their attention. I don't think they meant to be rude, but they were busy and not focused on customer service. It took me a while to find someone who would even tell me how to place an order for food.

When the food finally came, it was OK - basically home-style hippie food. What I enjoyed most was the smoothie.

If you're looking for a happening bar that also serves simple vegan food, then you might really like Juuls Kitchen. Just don't expect a "restaurant" experience -- at least not at dinner time (lunch might be a better bet).

Awful Service - Edit

On the facebook page, it says Juuls Kitchen opens every day at 11:30 am so we were sure that since we had ended up in Saint Julian's going there at 5:30pm would be fine. When we arrived at the place we saw a sign saying 12pm. Shouldn't have been an issue either. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. Eventually a guy brought an ashtray which we said we wouldn't need as we don't smoke. Then we continued to wait. My boyfriend entered the place and was ignored. He tried to get a menu and was told that there food would only be served later. He asked when and was told after 6pm. By then it was 5:55pm.
Absolutely no interest in customer service.
They could put the right information on their facebook page or on the sign. The guy that passed our table could have told us that it would still be a while until they would serve food. Instead, we were rudely told that food would be served "later" which was supposed to mean in 5 minutes. It's a shame that I am forced to give them two stars.

Pros: No idea

Cons: Awful service, False information on facebook, False information on sign

Not worth my time and money - Edit

Reading the other reviews got me excited to eat here. But what I got served, was nothing like I imagined!
The fist time I went there, I ordered the fallafel wrap which was pretty good, served in a nice basket, and the apple/pear smoothie.. The smoothie however, was a waste of my €5! I may even say it was disgusting.
The second time I went there I was hoping they were maybe just having an off-day the other day, but unfortunately I got disappointed once again.. The smoothie this time was better indeed (strawberry) but still had a minor off taste. But the (beans) burrito.. didn't exactly look very appetizing on an old plate, with old cutlery and a beans filling that made me wonder if I should eat it or not.. The fist few bites were ok, but then I just had enough of it. I didn't want to eat it anymore.
I'm yet trying to figure out how the other reviews were so praysing, and how my experience was totally different.

Pros: Location with a nice view

Cons: smoothies, burrito, old, basic, wobbly tables outside.

VEGAN - Edit

travelled 45 mins for vegan only - Edit

We travelled with our children to this vegan only place... It's a bar though. The food was really good. Fresh and filled with flavour. As it was a bar is was not too appropriate for the kids. We stayed in the seated area away from the bar. The service was really good. Everyone was so so friendly

WOW! - Edit

We've been to Jangal and it was super nice! Fresh well cooked food with love. I had the Jamaican Jerk burger. Nice and spicy and more than enough.

If I ever go back to Malta I'd definitely go to Jangal again.
