Nice place located a few steps away from Jean-Talon Market. You need to know that is there. You won't stumble on it while walking in the Jean-Talon Market, since it's not directly in the market area. The owners are super nice and the food is amazing!!! There are a lot of different choices (falafels, hummus, salads, rice, mock meats, etc.). I have been there many times and what I really like taking is a plate with a few mock meats. I try different ones everytime, they are all good. The vegan yogourt sauce is a must.

Sham has an extensive menu comprising many Middle Eastern classics (like shawarma, shish taouk, falafel, tajine, hummus, kibbeh, etc.) - but veganized! I was delightfully surprised to find vegan baklava too.

The shawarma was flavorful and its soft but chewy texture was on point. Bonus points: the takeout containers are compostable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Je suis allée à la nouvelle succursale sur l'Avenue du Mont-Royal et j'ai pris un repas pour emporter, étant donné le contexte Covid-19. J'ai demandé un repas pour deux et on m'a préparé une combinaison de plusieurs items, tous excellents et véganes. C'était goûteux, diversifié et frais. L'homme était super sympathique et généreux. De plus, les contenants pour emporter sont compostables. Un repas très satisfaisant et à un prix bien raisonnable. Je recommande sans hésiter!

Very friendly staff allowed us to sample a few dishes to help us make up our mind. the tagine texture was a bit to mushy for my liking. the swatma was excellent!

Quite a variety of options for combining all sorts of fake meat, which they truly mastered, with plenty of salad / rice / side-dish options. Their General Tao dish is on a different level. Vegan poutine available in multiple options, too. Very welcoming staff / owners. Will remember your face and greet you with genuine warmth when you come next time. Read moreIt is a store with a vegan restaurant inside. The store is vegetarian. Be careful we purchased a Nai drink that had honey in it. It's a good size, very clean and comfortable. If you eat there, you pay after you are done eating. The plates can be set on top of the trash.
The staff was super helpful when we walked in. They even gave us samples. The owner said the vegan meat is made from soy and mushrooms.
We both got the plate which includes your choice of 2 vegan meats, large salad with dressing and rice.
Vegan meat
Shwarma: Superb! Great flavor and texture
General Tsao: based on the reviews this is also a favorite, but I found it a bit chewy. Otherwise it was really good.
Lighter meat behind the Shwarma: I don't recal the name but this was my favorite. Tender, not dry and full of flavor.
Yellow Rice: the yellow rice was really good. It also had vegetables in it.
Salad: the salad was really fresh and had a lot of variety
Salad dressing: It tasted like creamy tahini dressing. I really liked it which was a surprise because I don't generally like tahini dressings.
The portion sizes were really large and everything was delicious.
Parking: street parking only
Pros: Great portions, superb staff, well maintained, The restaurant is 100% vegan

From shish taouk to shawarma, general tao or falafel, you can get a great tasteful dish whatever you order. It's a generous portion and they even help you decide which mock meat to choose from by tasting them. There's a lot of different hummus savors and it's also a place you can buy products.
