local find - Edit
Healthy Vegan and raw options. We ordered the Indo Crunch wrap and the burrito. These both were wrapped in collared greens. The star of the show was the Vegan live Coconut Cream cheesecake. Highly recommend if it is available.
Pros: service and help with the menu, Egan options, cute local spot
Cons: limited seating

The Best!! - Edit
Wish I could give this place 5 stars, I DEFINITELY would! My favorite lunch place in Maui. Tons of vegan options but, unlike other places, you'll leave feeling satisfied and healthy. All super fresh ingredients. The Indo Crunch Wrap is a MUST!! The ladies are super nice as well, so that's an added bonus!

nice vegan options - Edit
Just a few tables, more of a takeout place, nice selection of vegan lunch items, has a real pleasant "neighborhood" feel to it, an obvious fav of some locals. Lots of vegan desserts.
Pros: breakfast

great little lunch spot - Edit
The food was amazing. I would have given it 5 stars but Happy Cow will only let you give a non-vegan place 4 stars. They have plenty of vegan options and the people where so nice. Don't forget to try one of their vegan desserts. The brownies were so good. The owner told me to put it on the dash for 5 min to bring back that fresh baked flavor. It worked!!!!

So glad we found this place! - Edit
Sorry, I couldn't take a picture... I ate it too quickly! I had the Indo Crunch Wrap and it was perfect on a warm day. Fresh & cool & deelish! Make sure to check out the stuff in the fridge.
Pros: Vegan, raw, live
Cons: Basic looking place

not impressed - Edit
Wide enough choice of vegan/vegetarian food but nothing particularly impressive. Staff seemed evidently annoyed when we asked for two smoothies and made us feel uncomfortable.

Okay - Edit
I had read about this place on happycow some years back and have eaten here twice. Was just here in December 2012. Here's my Joy's Place review.
My first time eating here back in 2010 was better. There were more raw and vegan choices back then.
This time around, it seemed that the menu has added more turkey, chicken, fish, though still offering some of the raw wraps and desserts.
Vegans should be aware that the veggie burger patty contains egg white, according to the owner. She is Joy, the woman who works in the kitchen making the food.
We told the young woman at the counter that we wanted a vegan item, so she suggested that we get an avocado sandwich. It's not written on the board, but Joy could easily make it up. Cost $9. Other items on the menu cost from $11-12/each.
We also got a cup of the veggie chili with brown rice (vegan). It was rather peppered but tasty.
For dessert, we got one each of raw chilled cream. One with mango, the other with passion fruit. Both were delicious. Small portions but yummy.
Joy's space is very basic and small with a couple tables for seating. We got our food to-go and took it to the beach across the street.
On our previous trip we got the Indo crunch wrap (grilled tempeh with peanut dressing, sliced raw veggies and sprouts in a rice wrap), a live nut burger (almond and sunflower pate, slice of tomato, tahini sauce, avocado, onion, and sprouts all folded inside a sheet of chard), and a sweetened organic iced coffee with soy milk option. From the dessert case, we choose a vegan brownie, and a rice pudding (with brown rice, syrup, raisins, and bits of fresh pineapple). The chili was very good. The Indo crunch wrap was delicious. The live nut burger was tasty, though the chard did not hold the burger in -- I suggest using 2 sheets of chard to hold it together. The iced coffee was perfect for that hot Hawiian day. The vegan brownie, though yummy, was more fluffy like cake than brownie. The rice pudding had a very nice flavor, but the rice was a bit hard.
Overall, I enjoyed the first meal better than the second. The prices are not cheap, but I still recommend this as an option for vegetarians and vegans when in Kihei area.
Pros: healthy options, fresh ingredients, raw desserts
Cons: added more meat, not cheap

we ate here 3 times - Edit
We loved Joy's. The best breakfast/lunch spot on the south part of Maui. They can get busy and were sometimes short handed, but it is worth the wait & they couldn't be nicer. It may be smart to order on the phone. We got the indo wrap, the pnut sauce is diggity; we got it in the rice wrap. For breakfast, the acai berry bowl w soy instead of yogurt was great. They have some stuff in the fridge that was prepped to go & plenty tasty. Be sure to specify vegan, we had no issues w that but everything we had was so good and felt good, almost lulled to forget still have to specify.
Very good. When folks on the island asked where we liked to go and we talked about Joys, their faces would light up.
Small spot, easy to miss, but worth finding.
Pros: acai, indo tempeh, nice folks

Excellent Food! - Edit
This little place has many vegan & vegetarian options (although it offers some turkey and fish). They try to use live veggies and it's a great place for Raw Vegans too! I recommend it!
Pros: raw food, great vegan food, good prices
Cons: slow service
